With the UFC 160 quickly in the books, there is time to see a little of what the UFC 161 main event between Rashard Evans and Dan Henderson brings to the table on June 15th.
The fight will be at MTS Centre – Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in a Light Heavyweight 3 rounds contest. Henderson is listed -105 in the moneyline and Evans -125. The odds will change as soon as the date gets closer.
‘Suga’ Evans will be back to the octagon after losing to Antonio Rogerio back on February 2. He needs to bring his A game ready as most people are saying he might be done. He has lost two contests in a row and most people won’t back him in the UFC betting odds.
Evans looks for a win to get back in the conversation to take Jon Jones again for the title.
“I hate to admit it: he’s good. He’s really good,” Evans said about Jones. “He went to work right away taking Chael down and worked the ground-and-pound. His ground-and-pound is second-to-none. When he gets you down, it’s relentless pressure.”
Before taking on Jones, the winner of the Henderson – Evans dispute will have to exchange some strikes with Glover Teixeira, who’s waiting anxiously for the winner.
Former Strikeforce champion Henderson also arrives to this matchup against Evans after losing his last fight against Lyoto Machida at UFC 157. It was his first loss in five outings.
The reason the fight is up to three rounds is because Henderson and Evans had a short notice about UFC 161.
