College Football 2012: Arkansas vs Oregon Odds

Oregon is ready to set their offensive pace in week one when they face Arkansas at Autzen Stadium Saturday at 10:30 PM ET.

The Ducks have one of the most impressive offenses in the league with a running game that is almost impossible to stop. However, they decided to put  up backup quarterback Marcus Mariota as their starter, sitting Darron Thomas.

“We had 37 practice opportunities, and through the body of work, we felt that Marcus gave us the best shot in our opening game,” coach Chip Kelly said.

“He’s a laid-back dude,” Kelly added. “He’s the same all the time. I think it’s a real admirable quality to have his consistency with his approach”.

“To finally know that you’re the guy and to finally get things going and to get prepared, it’s exciting,” Mariota said.

For Arkansas, the idea is to see Ryan Aplin on his senior year, especially as he has been often compared to New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees.

“A lot of people are probably doubting us and saying we’re going to get killed and whatnot, but that’s just fuel to our fire,” Aplin said. “We’re going to go out there and give them hell and do what we do best, up-tempo, and hopefully put a shock to them.”

Oregon is a 37 point favorite in the collge football betting lines, with the game total set at 68.5. Keep in mind the trends say Arkansas State is 7-1 ATS in September, and Oregon is 11-2 Over in home games.
