The Connecticut Huskies take on the Butler Bulldogs at the XL Center this Tuesday night. Butler has been in good form in recent weeks and will have their sights set on causing an upset against the Big East table toppers. The Huskies are the defending NCAA Basketball champions and look in no mood to surrender their title. Dan Hurley’s team are currently on a ten-match winning streak and are clear leaders at the top of the Big East.
In recent weeks, the Butler Bulldogs have also hit form. The Bulldogs have now won their last four, and it’s hard to see how they could come into this Big East showdown in any better form than they’ve shown in recent weeks. But will this form be enough to snap the Huskies’ ten-match winning run?
Latest betting to win the Big East
Well, even if Butler can pull off a shock win, it’s not likely to make much difference to UConn’s position as the betting favorites to win the Big East Conference this season. At the moment, the best college basketball betting sites make UConn -1200 to top the table in the 2023/24 season.
The only real challenger left in the eyes of the bookmakers is Marquette at +500.

UConn Huskies vs. Butler Bulldogs: Latest Form
UConn sits top of the Big East with a Conference record of 10-1. Overall, they are 20-2 and are currently on a winning streak of 10.
In their most recent matchup, the Huskies defeated St John’s 77-64 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. The match was 37-36 at the halfway point. But the Huskies produced a powerful second-half performance to secure a 13-point victory, thanks in the main to Cam Spencer (23 points) and Stephon Castle (21 points).

As for the Bulldogs, they sit fifth in the Big East table with a Conference record of 6-5. Overall this season, they are 15-7 and are on a winning streak of four.
In their most recent match, Thad Matta’s team completed a remarkable one-point win over Creighton (99-98) on Friday night. In what was a record-breaking win, the Bulldogs heroes were Jahmyl Telfort (26 points) and DJ Davis (22 points). This was the first time since 2011 that two Big East colleges scored 95-plus points in regulation.

Of the Bulldogs’ four wins, two have come at Hinkle Fieldhouse (74-60 vs. DePaul and 88-81 vs. Villanova) and two on the road (99-60 against Georgetown and the 99-98 win over Creighton).
UConn Huskies vs. Butler Bulldogs Betting Picks
At home, the Huskies have a 12-0 record. On the road, the Bulldogs are 3-4. But it’s the Huskies’ home record and overall form that is the reason why they are ridiculously short to win on the money line at -950.
We expect UConn to win the match, but we are not going near to odds like that. So, it’s onto the handicap spread. A spread of 14.5 points against an in-form team is a big ask. In their last two home games, UConn defeated Providence by nine and Xavier by 43. Their most recent game was on the road, where they won by 13 against St John’s.
Butler has a similar record to that of Providence and a superior one to that of Xavier. All this makes calling the handicap a really tough decision to make, so instead we are going to go for over 147 points. Both teams are scoring heavily at the moment, and the Bulldogs have covered this total in their last three fixtures.
