In the betting to win the 2024 NCAA Basketball Championship, No.1 ranked UConn is now just +450 to win the title again. The Huskies were +375 last week, but have seen their odds drift slightly after their heavy defeat away at Creighton (85–66).
Another reason for the Huskies’ odds lengthening could be down to the excellent form of Houston. The Cougars are on a winning streak of five and sit top of the Big 12. This run of form has seen the bookmakers make Houston the new second favorite (+700) to win the 2024 Championship match.
The Cougars have taken the second favorites place away from the Purdue Boilermakers, who are now third in the betting at +800. North Carolina, Arizona, and Tennessee are all at +1400.

North Carolina vs. Miami Hurricanes Latest Form
The North Carolina Tar Heels sit top of the Atlantic Coast with a 13-3 Conference record. Their overall record this season is 21-6. At home, they are 11-1. On the road, the record reads 7-2. And they are on a winning streak of two.

The victory followed on from a 96-81 win over Virginia Tech the previous weekend. In general, the Tar Heels have been a bit up and down lately. In their last five, they have won three and lost two.
They need a consistent run of form over their remaining matches if they are to win the Conference.
The Miami Hurricanes are having a disappointing season. At the moment, they sit 12th in the Atlantic Coast with a Conference record of 6-11. Overall, in 2023/24, the Hurricanes are 15-13. They are 11-5 at home. But on the road, Miami has a disappointing 2-7 record.
To cap things off, they are on a losing streak of six.
North Carolina vs. Miami Hurricanes Betting Picks
The Tar Heels have a home record of 11-1, and with the Hurricanes on a losing run of six, a home win is pretty much assured. But we are not recommending a bet at odds of -1100.
Onto the handicap, and at 14.5, it looks a lot for a North Carolina side that wasn’t great in their recent win over Virginia. But Miami is now a team that surely has to go for it if they are to have any chance of reaching the postseason. So, does this open the door at the back for North Carolina to fill their boots?
We’re not so sure.
Nijel Pack is a doubt for the Hurricanes, and if he misses out, Miami’s chances will be even slimmer. Doubts over Pack also make calling the match slightly more complicated. With him in the team, we would take the Hurricanes to win with the spread. Without him, we would go with the Tar Heels to cover.
So with doubts about who is playing along with suspect form from both teams, we are instead going to play safe and back under 154.5 on the totals line. A line of 154.5 looks high. So, we are going for under 154.5 for our betting pick.
