Well, maybe it could have been worse. DePaul might have been away to UConn. But thankfully, Matt Brady and his team got that road trip out of the way at the start of 2024. The Huskies won 85-56. And that was the start of the Blue Demons’ losing run, that they are still on now.
Latest betting to win the Big East regular season
The Huskies are clear at the top of the table with a 12-1 Conference record. Only No.4 ranked Marquette (10-3) has a realistic chance of catching them. And the two colleges meet on Saturday at the XL Center in what promises to be a real Conference showdown.
At the time of writing, UConn is -2000 to win the Conference in the regular season. Marquette is second at odds of +650. Creighton and Seton Hall are both listed at +10000. But both are 8-5 in the Conference and already look out of the picture.
Betting to win the Men’s 2024 NCAA Basketball Championship

We already know that the Blue Demons have a Conference record of 0-12. Overall, they are 3-20, with a 3-11 home record and a 0-7 record on the road.
The three wins all came in 2023. In reverse order, they were against Chicago State (70-58), Louisville (75-68), and South Dakota (72-60).
The recent losing streak of 11 has seen some close results. But it has also had its fair share of shockers. A couple of standout defeats were the 100-62 home loss to Creighton and the 72-39 home defeat to Seton Hall. The Blue Demons can take some heart from only losing to Marquette by 13 points in late January.
The Huskies are on a roll at the moment. They are on a winning streak of 12, and in the Big East, have a Conference record of 12-1. At home, they are 13-0. On the road, 5-2, giving the defending champions an overall record of 22-2 this season.
Recent wins have been convincing. Last weekend, they won 89-64 at Georgetown. That win followed a 71-62 home win over Butler and a 77-64 road trip win over St John’s.

Will the Huskies have one eye on Saturday’s showdown with Marquette? That’s the only crumb of comfort that the Blue Demons can cling to.
