GEORGIA VS NOTRE DAME

Last week, the No. 3 Bulldogs and No. 7 Fighting Irish crushed their respective opponents by a combined score of 121-14. Notre Dame will now travel to Athens, Georgia, for a game that’s as highly-anticipated as it is craz-expensive for fans.

The last meeting between these two schools in 2017 was an instant classic that resulted in a 20-19 Georgia win and an eventual trip to the National Championship Game. Oddsmakers aren’t expecting this one to be nearly as close, putting the Irish in the role of Rudy as two-touchdown underdogs.

Georgia has two Heisman Trophy candidates in quarterback Jake Fromm and running back D’Andre Swift playing behind an NFL-caliber offensive line.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame still has several key pieces from the 2018 roster that made the College Football Playoff, including senior QB Ian Book who has looked impressive through the season’s first three games.

An upset victory would immediately put the Irish back in the national title conversation after being mostly disrespected and ignored to this point

An upset victory would immediately put the Irish back in the national title conversation after being mostly disrespected and ignored to this point, while a win would cement Georgia as a true championship contender.

If you have a strong feeling about who will come out on top, bet their National Championship futures now, because they’ll be getting shorter next week.

MICHIGAN AT WISCONSIN

It was only a few weeks ago that No. 11 Michigan was a popular pick to win the Big Ten with the fourth-best National Championship odds (10-1) in the country. But, after barely escaping a matchup with Army (24-21) a couple Saturdays ago, the Wolverines’ title odds sunk all the way to 25-1.

This weekend’s contest against No. 13 Wisconsin will give Jim Harbaugh’s crew a chance to repair its reputation, but it’s fair to wonder if their offense is up for the job.

Quarterback Shea Patterson has already lost three fumbles in two weeks and was sacked four times by Army, only throwing for a measly 207 yards.

While Michigan’s defense has been solid so far, Wisconsin has been dominant through two games, outscoring their opponents 110-0.  Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor has also had past success versus the Wolverines, rushing for 132 yards in 2017 and 101 yards in 2018.

Michigan opened as a 3.5-point underdog to Wisconsin, which is especially bad news for a Wolverines team that has lost 13 games in a row when the other team is favored.
