JONATHAN TAYLOR
Jonathan Taylor is one of those old-school backs who NFL draft-niks downgrade because of a lack of receiving ability, but his raw production can’t be ignored.
After averaging more than 2,000 yards and accumulating 29 total touchdowns over his first two seasons in Wisconsin, the 5’11”, 219-pound junior is running hot to start the year with 440 yards on 58 carries (7.6 AVG) and 10 total touchdowns.

The former high-school track star dismantled Michigan on Saturday, rushing for 143 yards and two TDs in the game’s first 20 minutes.
His Heisman odds jumped from 20/1 to 16/1 and if he can continue to dominate on the big stage, Taylor might be able to leap the six quarterbacks ahead of him on the list above.
JOE BURROW
Joe Burrow’s odds are like Apple stock in the early 2000s. Before the season, the LSU senior was 200/1 to win the Heisman Trophy. Those odds shot to 12/1 after Burrow threw for 471 passing yards and four touchdowns in a Week 2 win over No. 9 Texas.
They jumped again to 4/1 after Week 3, and all of a sudden, the 22-year-old quarterback was viewed as having a better chance to win the Heisman than Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, an unimaginable scenario only one month ago.

In Week 4, Burrow had what he described as the “worst game I’ve played so far,” but he still tossed six touchdown passes against Vanderbilt. He’s now at 3/1 and only Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa has higher odds to win the Heisman.
With lowly Utah State up next this Saturday, Burrow’s stock shouldn’t crash anytime soon.
JUSTIN FIELDS
In Ohio State’s ugly 76–5 win over Miami (OH) on Saturday, Justin Fields became the first player since Lamar Jackson in 2016 to have four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the first half of a game.
The electric, dual-threat star now has 880 yards and 13 TDs passing through the season’s first four games with 150 yards and six scores on the ground.

Sitting at 16/1 odds after Week 2, Fields has scurried past Lawrence (12/1) after his past two performances.
At 9/1, he now sits as a top-four contender to strike the Heisman pose at the end of the year, and is still the best value on the board.
