One of the most intriguing games in College Basketball this weekend features the Pittsburgh Panthers visiting the North Carolina Tar Heels, in an ACC Battle, this Saturday at 1 PM ET at Dean E. Smith Center.
Pittsburgh needs to bounce back after a crushing loss on Wednesday when they allowed Syracuse leave their building undefeated after a last second half-court shot. The Panthers are now 20-5 in the season with 4 of those 5 losses coming against ACC opponents.
“We guarded it about as well as you could guard it,” Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said. “He made about a 40-footer. We did what we were supposed to do. If we had to do it again. … We did the right things.
“They were going to get a shot off. He made it, and he made a tough one. We knew he’d have the ball and would be the guy. We had two guys on him. He hit the shot. Our guys defended, and he hit a shot.”
North Carolina hasn’t played in a week; their game against Duke scheduled for Wednesday was postponed because a snow storm. The Tar Heels are 16-7 in the season with a 6-4 record against ACC rivals.
North Carolina is a 3.5 point favorite in the NCAAB Betting odds. The Tar Heels are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog of 0.5-6.5, and the Panthers are 23-8-1 ATS in their last 32 games as an underdog.
