The Marquette Golden Eagles have had a tremendous tourney so far, but their most difficult challenge is about to arrive as they take on the Florida Gators, this Thursday at 9:45 PM ET.
Marquette beat BYU by 20 points, and then, they beat Murray by nine points. “When you’re playing a team like Murray State, they’re going to keep throwing punches and throwing punches, and you have to find a way to slow them down,” guard Darius Johnson-Odom said. “We did a great job of that today.”
“We proved today that we belong, and we belonged on a national stage,” Racers coach Steve Prohm said. “We just weren’t good enough the last seven minutes.”
Marquette is a team that moves the ball effectively and usually has the patient to get the best shoot available. They won’t shoot with urgency and without sense. However, there is a problem with the Eagles when they play really good defense in the previous game as they 0-5 ATS after holding previous opponent to 33% shooting or less.
The Gators can’t feel bad about their latest performances either. Florida smashed two horrible teams in the VirginiaCavaliers and NorfolkState Spartans, but hey, it doesn’t matter if they are bad, they needed to blow them up.
“It’s a great feeling, a good accomplishment,” said the Gators’ Erving Walker. “It would be even better to get to the Final Four, so we’ve still got work to do.”
Consider Florida is 8-1 ATS Away off win by 20+ points.
