There’s more college basketball action on Friday night, and with two sides ranked in the top 25 meeting, we thought we’d focus on the match between Virginia and Baylor for our latest NCAAB betting picks.
Virginia are ranked 16, Baylor are ranked five. It’s the first time either side has faced a fellow top 25 ranked side this season. Virginia have won two from two, Baylor are three from three. So something has to give when the sides meet at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise on Friday.
In the betting to win the 2023 NCAA Basketball Championship, Virginia are big outsiders at +4000, while Baylor are one of he favorites at +1400.
Elsewhere in the betting to win the championship, we have new favorites. On Wednesday, Gonzaga suffered a 93-74 shock defeat at the hands of the Texas Longhorns.

The defeat has seen them disposed as favorites, below we take a look in more detail
Betting to win the 2023 NCAA Basketball Championship
Yes, following on from their defeat on Wednesday night, Gonzaga are no longer the favorites with the best college basketball betting sites to win the championship. That honor now goes to the Houston Cougars. The Cougars are +850 with BetOnline, with Gonzaga slipping to +1100, second favorites. Before the loss, Gonzaga were +850.
Such is the relentless nature of the NCAAB season, the odds will keep on changing like this throughout the campaign. So it would make sense to get on a team you think might win the championship after their odds have lengthened on the back of a shock loss, such as Gonzaga’s have.
Next in the betting is Kentucky and North Carolina, who are both at +1200. Then it’s Baylor and Texas, both on the +1400 mark.
|NCAAB Tournament Winner Betting 2023|
In Conference Winner betting, Virginia are +700 to win the ACC in the regular season market. This makes them third favorites behind North Carolina at +125, and Duke at +210. It looks like a three horse race with the top sportsbooks, as next after Virginia is Virginia Tech, and Miami Florida, who are both priced at +1400.
In the betting to win the Big 12, Baylor are joint favorites alongside Kansas, both are +210. Close behind the leading two is Texas at +350, and they are followed by Texas Tech at +750, and TCU at +1000.

Virginia vs Baylor
So far this season, Virginia has just had the two fixtures. This was down to the awful incident on campus that led to the postponement of their last match against Northern Iowa earlier in the week.
In the two matches they have played, the Cavaliers won them both. In their season opener they beat NC Central 73-61, and they followed that up with an 89-42 victory over Monmouth.
- What; Virginia Cavaliers vs Baylor Bears
- Where; T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada
- When; Friday, November 18th, 2022

As for Baylor, they have won all three of their matches to date. A point of note is that all three matches were at home, and the trip to Nevada is their first road trip of the season.
In their season opener they defeated MS Valley 117-53 at the Ferrell Center. They followed that up with another home win, this time 87-70 over Norfolk State. Finally, in their last outing, they defeated Northern CO 95-62. Two of those three wins were by big margins.
Last night, No. 5 Baylor defeated Northern Colorado 95-62, giving @BUDREW his 400th career win.

Virginia vs Baylor Betting Picks
Right, onto our NCAA college basketball betting picks. First up, let’s take a quick look at the betting odds.
Close, is the first word that springs to mind. Baylor at -110 starting from a handicap of -4.5 points sounds good to me. While starting with a +4.5 points position, Virginia are also -110. On the total points spread, over 133.5 is -110, and under 133.5 is also -110.
The first thought I had when I saw these odds was this looks good value for Baylor backers. Could this be down to them playing away from home for the first time this season?
Regardless, I’m going to go for Baylor to win on the handicap for my first betting pick on this match. I know that Virginia is strong at home, but I think a handicap spread of -4.5 is too good to miss.
For my second NCAA basketball pick, I’m going for over 133.5 points. All of these two teams’ matches have been high scoring, and although there is the risk they may cancel each other out, I think this bet is a risk well worth taking.
