Michigan Wolverines at (14) Maryland Terrapins (-9, 124.5 o/u)
The Michigan Wolverines (14-13, 7-8 Big Ten) will look to upset a ranked Big Ten opponent for the second game in a row when they visit the No. 14 Maryland Terrapins (23-5, 11-4 Big Ten) tomorrow at XFINITY Center (12:00 p.m. Eastern).
Michigan topper arch-rival No. 24 No. Ohio State in their last game, 64-57, getting 16 points from point guard Spike Albrecht and covering the spread as 7.5-point home dogs.
“Not turning the ball over was huge for us,” said Michigan coach John Beilein, whose team had 13 assists. “[Thirteen assists] means you made two people guard you, and you got somebody open.”
The win put a halt to a five-game losing streak for the Wolverines, who were in danger of falling below .500 for the first time this year.
The Terps heads into tomorrow’s game as hot as they have been all year. Maryland has won four straight, including a huge 59-53 upset over No. 5 Wisconsin on Tuesday night. The Terrapins were 5.5-point home dogs against the Badgers, but prevailed over the Big Ten’s top team thanks to 26 points from Dez Wells.
“We’ve been in so many close games, we’d have just kept doing what we do,” Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said. “Our guys were really determined tonight, starting with Dez Wells.”
Looking at the trends, Maryland is 5-0 SU in its last five at home, but just 1-4 ATS. Michigan is 1-4 SU in its last five on the road.
