March Madness is upon us and the race for the NCAA Basketball champion is about to go full tilt. Below are some important dates for the upcoming NCAA Basketball tournament.
- First Round: March 17 & 18
- Second Round: March 19 & 20
- Sweet 16: March 24 & 25
- Elite Eight: March 26 & 27
- Final Four: April 2 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans
- National Championship: April 4 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans
The Baylor Bears won the NCAA title with a 86-70 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs in 2021. Despite that setback, Gonzaga was the preseason favorite to win the 2022 NCAAB championship. With the 2022 March Madness picks coming out, Gonzaga remains the favorite to take home the 2022 NCAAB National Championship.
Today we look at Day Two of the opening round of the 2022 NCAAB tournament.

Jacksonville State (15) vs. Auburn (2)

Auburn is the No. 2 seed in the Midwest. They meet Jacksonville State, who is the No. 15 seed in the first round. Auburn finished the season as the No. 1 team in the SEC with a record of 27-5. Meanwhile. Jacksonville State was first in the ASUN W with a 21-10 record.
The Auburn Tigers had a remarkable winning streak of 19 games during the 2022 NCAAB season, but they enter March Madness on a run of 5-4 in their last nine outings. The Jacksonville State Gamecocks’ longest winning streak of the season was a respectable 10 games. The Gamecocks wrapped up the season on a 6-4 run.
Auburn has the best field goal defense in the SEC and Jacksonville State has a propensity for turnovers, that’s a bad recipe for the Gamecocks.

Delaware (15) vs. Villanova (2)

Villanova heads into March Madness as the No. 2 seed in the South. They face the No. 15 seeded team from Delaware. The Villanova Wildcats were the No. 2 team in the Big East during the season. The Delaware Blue Hens wrapped up their season as the No. 4 CAA team.
The Wildcats had a strong record from December 21 until the end of the NCAAB season. They went 19-3 and finished the year on a five-game winning streak. The Blue Hens were up and down throughout the season. Delaware ended their season with a 6-4 record in their final 10 games.
Villanova’s offense is overwhelming and they are especially effective with their three-pointers. When you add the Wildcats’ powerful defense into the mix, things look bleak for Delaware.

CSU Fullerton (15) vs. Duke (2)

Duke’s 2022 NCAAB season ended with the Blue Devils as the top squad in the ACC with a record of 28-6. CSU Fullerton had a 21-10 record. The Titans were the No. 2 team in the Big West. Duke is the No. 2 seed in the West and CSU Fullerton is No. 15.
Duke had a good season, but it ended with disappointment as the club lost the final home game of coach Mike Krzyzewski’s long career with the team. The Blue Devils then lost the ACC title game to Virginia Tech. CSU Fullerton’s season ended with wins in their final four games.
I think Duke is going to struggle to make it deep during March Madness this year, but the team is not going to go out in the first round. The Blue Devils are the better team here and they will make it into the second round with a win over CSU Fullerton.
