(6) Wisconsin Badgers (-1.5, 139 o/u) at (23) Ohio State Buckeyes

Tonight, the No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers (27-3, 15-2 Big Ten) travel to Columbus to face the No. 23 Ohio State Buckeyes (22-8, 11-6 Big Ten) in the last regular season game for both teams (4:30 p.m. Eastern).

The Badgers have already locked up the Big Ten regular season title, sitting two games clear of Maryland with just one game left to go. After losing to the Terps in late February, Wisconsin bounced back with wins over Michigan State (69-61) and Minnesota (76-63) to sew up another outright Big Ten crown, their second in a row and 18th all-time.

Wooden Award favorite Frank Kaminsky spurred the win over the Gophers, scoring 25 points. “It’s been a crazy ride. It’s been fun. To win [the title] in a rivalry game on Minnesota’s court with so many of our own fans here is something pretty special,” said Kaminsky after the game. “We could hear them the whole game. They were loud.”

Ohio State, on the other hand, is still battling for seeding heading into the Big Ten tourney. The Buckeyes are currently in a four-way tie for third in the conference (with Michigan State, Iowa, and Purdue). The team has helped its own cause lately, winning three in a row, including a 65-61 triumph over Purdue last Sunday.

Freshman guard D’Angelo Russell scored 28 points in the win. He followed that up with another 28 points in OSU’s 77-67 win at Penn State on Wednesday. Russell is now averaging over 19 points per game and is seeing his draft stock rise even higher.

The win over Penn State saw Ohio State head coach Thad Matta tie Fred Taylor for the most wins in school history (297).

“This game was big for us so for so many other reasons,” said Matta, downplaying the significance of his accomplishment. “When the time’s right, I’ll sit down and have a nice glass of wine and think about it. We have to get ourselves ready; we’re playing the best team in the Big Ten on Sunday.”

Wisconsin is currently a 1.5-point favorite for today’s game, while the o/u is sitting at 139.

In the trends, Ohio State is 5-2 SU in its last seven games when playing Wisconsin, 4-1 SU in its last five games when playing at home against the Badgers.  The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Ohio State’s last eight games when playing at home against Wisconsin.
