BetMGM Sportsbook is part of BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain plc, combining MGM’s global entertainment footprint with Entain’s online betting expertise. While MGM’s entertainment and casino operations have been established for decades, the BetMGM brand entered the sports betting market in 2019, following the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2018 decision to strike down PASPA and allow states to legalize sports wagering.

During this time, BetMGM has established itself as one of the biggest players in legal online sports betting throughout North America. This growth pattern is projected to continue, as well. As of 2025, 38 states plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico have legalized sports betting, with additional states considering legislation. This growing pool of potential customers continues to drive industry revenue projections, and BetMGM Sportsbook has strengthened its position further by securing high-profile partnerships across sports and entertainment.

Even though BetMGM never entered the Daily Fantasy Sports space, it has grown into the clear number-three sportsbook in the U.S. market, trailing only FanDuel and DraftKings. While FanDuel and DraftKings continue to lead in revenue and market share, BetMGM remains a major competitor with strong brand recognition, a large casino footprint, and steady growth across dozens of regulated states.

Since the repeal of PASPA in 2018, dozens of states have legalized sports wagering, with some authorizing retail sportsbooks inside casinos, stadiums, and racetracks. BetMGM has leaned on MGM Resorts’ casino footprint and local partnerships to build one of the largest retail sportsbook networks in the U.S.

At a time when most sports betting takes place on mobile apps, BetMGM Sportsbooks is among those that continue to invest in their desktop design. From shortcuts like “Easy Parlay” to league logo icons helping you navigate from page to page, the user interface is extremely friendly.

BetMGM Sportsbook also features an omnipresent betslip on the right hand side of your screen. It is very unobtrusive, so it doesn’t hinder your page navigation, and it keeps track of your selected wagers and prospective payouts as you click around the site.

One potential downside: The live betting and prop markets are on the tepid side. You’ll be fine if you’re only interested in NFL live betting and NFL prop betting, but the options for other sports are sparse. This might be because BetMGM Sportsbook didn’t start out as a Daily Fantasy Sports site, though that’s more of a theory than a confirmed reality.

BetMGM Mobile Betting

Using the BetMGM Sportsbook mobile betting app is a pretty stress-free experience. The black and gold color scheme makes all the calls to action really stand out, and you’re able to bounce around from market to market with relative ease. The betslip on their mobile betting app is also super intuitive. It is, however, something of a pain to create your account from a mobile device. Visiting the desktop site is easier for first-time users.

BetMGM Customer Service

Similar to many other sports and competitions betting sites, BetMGM Sportsbook first routes you through a detailed FAQ section before presenting direct contact options. However, users can still access customer service by phone, email, or inquiry form. In addition, BetMGM now offers a 24/7 live-chat option, making it easier to reach support without having to dig through the FAQ.
