POSSIBLE REMATCH FROM THE 2021 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP?
Denmark has a good chance to get a good seed coming out of the prelims as they are in Group A with Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
Sweden is in a much tougher spot. It has Spain to deal with in its preliminary group. Also in that group are Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to pre-tournament odds, Spain has a better chance of winning than Sweden via SportBetting.
OTHER TOP CONTENDERS
France has a good chance to emerge from the preliminary round with a good seeding as they are matched up against Serbia, Croatia, and Ukraine. Serbia and Croatia could fall into the live underdog category. Serbia is +5000, while Croatia is +1600. France is +350 to win.
France has claimed the European Championship three times but has not won since 2014.
Norway might be the team to keep an eye on coming out of the preliminary round, as they have a fairly soft group to contend with Russia, Slovakia, and Lithuania. Of those three, Russia has the best odds at +10000. Norway is +450 to win via BetOnline.
Norway has never won a European championship. Their best finish came in 2020 when they were able to finish in the third spot behind Spain and Croatia.
Spain cannot be overlooked. It has won the past two European Championships, but with Sweden in the same prelim. bracket, they might have a tough time making it three straight titles.
A sleeper to monitor is the host country of Hungary. They are a +1000 to win, but with zero titles to their name, they might go into the 2022 championship with something to prove to the home crowd.
