The 2022 Premier Lacrosse League Season comes to an end on Sunday, September 18 at Philadelphia’s Subaru Park when the Waterdogs and the Chaos face off in the 2022 PLL Championship game.
This is the first time in the four-year history of the Premier Lacrosse League that the Whipsnakes did not make the final. After securing a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the Whipsnakes fell to the Waterdogs by a score of 11-10. The Whipsnakes won the PLL title in 2019 and 2020.
The Chaos are the defending PLL champions. The team fell to the Whipsnakes in 2020, but rebounded in 2021 to beat them 14-9 to claim their first title. They look to go back-to-back against the Waterdogs, who they lost to 18-9 in Week 4 of the 2022 PLL season.

2022 Premier Lacrosse League Championship Game picks
To Win 2022 Premier Lacrosse League Championship | |
Waterdogs | -120 |
Chaos | -110 |
Waterdogs
The Waterdogs finished the 2022 PLL season with a 5-5 record. The club had 130 scores, but had a negative scoring differential of -3 on the season. When the playoffs began, the Waterdogs were +800 to win the 2022 PLL title.
Despite the team scoring less than it scored, Connor Kelly led the PLL in 2-point goals during the regular season with 4. Kieran McArdle was the league leader in assists with 23. McArdle was second in the league in points with 42. Michael Sowers finished the season with the fourth most 1-point goals with 21.
The Waterdogs defeated the Atlas 19-14 in the first round of the 2022 PLL playoffs.
Chaos
With all but one of the eight teams in the PLL making the playoffs, the Chaos‘ record of 2-8 was good enough to earn them the No. 7 spot in the PLL postseason. When the playoffs began, the defending champs were +1000 to repeat as champions.
The Chaos defeated the No. 2 Chrome in the opening round of the PLL playoffs, before topping the No. 3 Archers by a score of 9-7 to make it to the 2022 Championship game.
The Chaos finished the season with a massive -25 goal differential, scoring the fewest points during the season of any team, with 101.
Our pick
This is a very difficult game to figure out. Both teams have exceeded expectations during the playoffs, but with the Waterdogs besting the Whipsnakes and having a regular season win over the Chaos, I think they get things done and claim their first PLL title.
Pick: Waterdogs to win the 2022 Premier Lacrosse League Championship.
