UFC Betting News and Analysis This Week | 2 Fight Night Events Close Out June, Fight Card Trends & Market Movement | June 17, 2026

In major UFC betting news, the promotion has two new champions following UFC Freedom 250. In the main event of that card, betting underdog Justin Gaethje upset Ilia Topuria to become the undisputed UFC lightweight champion. Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Ciryl Gane defeated Alex Pereira in a pick ’em fight to become the interim heavyweight champion, setting up a potential unification bout with heavyweight titleholder Tom Aspinall.
The big news in MMA remains the UFC announcing the return of former two-division champion Conor McGregor. McGregor, who has not set foot inside the Octagon since he suffered a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, is booked to face ex-featherweight and BMF titleholder Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 in a welterweight contest. McGregor defeated Holloway in August 2013, winning a decision in what was McGregor’s second UFC fight and Holloway’s sixth contest with the promotion. That matchup was at 145 pounds.
Before that July 11 event, the UFC holds two UFC Fight Night events to close out the month of June. On June 20, the promotion will be at the UFC Apex for a Manel Kape vs. Kyoji Horiguchi headlined card. Then on June 27, the promotion heads to Azerbaijan for a Rafael Fiziev vs. Manuel Torres main event.
Below, we break down the best betting angles, storylines, odds movement, and what bettors should be watching heading into the upcoming UFC events. For all UFC betting news, check out our UFC Betting Guide, which contains all things MMA related, as well as our up-to-date UFC betting odds.

The biggest UFC betting storylines for UFC Vegas 119
- The opening betting line for the UFC Vegas 119 main event, the flyweight matchup between Manel Kape and Kyoji Horiguchi, found Kape listed as the -275 betting favorite over the +235 Horiguchi. That line has tightened up as fight night nears, with Kape now listed at -160 and Horiguchi as the +140 betting underdog.
- Kape is the No. 2 ranked UFC 125-pounder, while Horiguchi checks in at No. 5 in those rankings.
- Kape (22-7) is on a three-fight winning streak, most recently defeating former title challenger Brandon Royval via first-round knockout.
- Horiguchi (36-5-0-1) is 2-0 in his second stint with the UFC. The ex-title challenger, who lost to Demetrious Johnson in 2015, last fought in February, beating Amir Albazi via decision.
- Kape and Horiguchi fought in the Rizin ring in 2017. Horiguchi won that fight via armbar.
- The betting pick is that Horiguchi, who is the more skilled all-around fighter, will win via decision. With that in mind and how the betting odds are moving, it would be best to get a wager on Horiguchi early, because he could be the betting favorite on fight night. Right now, he’s a great bet at underdog money.
The biggest UFC betting storylines for UFC Azerbaijan
- The early betting line for the main event of the UFC Fight Night in Baku, Azerbaijan, has Rafael Fiziev as the -135 betting favorite over Manuel Torres, who is the +114 betting underdog.
- Fiziev (13-5) is on a 1-4 run since March 2023. Despite his struggles, he is the No. 11 ranked UFC lightweight. Meanwhile, the 17-3 Torres is coming off back-to-back first-round knockout wins. He is ranked No. 15 in the division. Fiziev is coming off a knockout loss to Mauricio Ruffy.
- Expect an entertaining striking battle in this contest, as both fighters are finishers, with Fiziev having eight KO wins and Torres nine knockout victories.
- A safe bet in this fight might be under 2.5 rounds, as Torres has only fought past the first round once in a career that began in 2014. He is 5-1 in the UFC, with his longest fight going 4:02.
- The betting odds favor Fiziev, and that makes sense because he has faced tougher competition throughout his career, but his best days seem to be behind him. The betting pick is for Torres to win this fight via knockout.
Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 betting outlook
- The UFC has officially booked Conor McGregor to return against Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 during International Fight Week in July.
- The 37-year-old McGregor is 1-3 since 2018. His losses came to Khabib Nurmagomedov (submission), and Dustin Poirier (TKO x 2). McGregor’s most recent win was a January 2020 TKO over Donald Cerrone.
- Holloway, at 34, has fought eight times since McGregor last competed. His record over that time is 5-3 and includes two fights for the featherweight belt (losses) as well as competing for the symbolic BMF title (win) and a defense of that belt (loss). Holloway’s losses have been to Charles Oliveira (BMF title), Ilia Topuria (featherweight title), and Alex Volkanovski (featherweight title). Holloway’s wins have been against Yair Rodriguez (decision), Arnold Allen (decision), Korean Zombie (KO), Justin Gaethje (KO), and Dustin Poirier (decision).
- The betting odds opened with Holloway as a significant betting favorite (-550) over McGregor (+420). Those odds have tightened, but Holloway remains a favorite (-275) over McGregor, who is the +235 betting underdog.
- The early betting pick is Max Holloway to win, but it might be worth holding off on a wager. As more money comes in on McGregor, expect Holloway to have more attractive betting odds. With that being said, if McGregor does win, it is likely to come via early knockout when he is fresh and still has power, so a value bet on that outcome makes sense.

Betting trends we’re watching this week
- Along with the main event and co-main event of UFC 329, the UFC also announced other bouts for the UFC 329 main card. Below are those fights and the current betting odds:
- Cory Sandhagen (-145) vs. Mario Bautista (+125)

What could move odds before next UFC update
Look for Conor McGregor fans to continue to get behind their favorite fighter as UFC 329 nears. It would be a surprise to see McGregor move to a betting favorite because of his inactivity, but the odds still have room to get tighter and that could happen.
