The 2022 edition sees 17 teams fighting it out for their share of a prize pool totaling $661,101 – with the winners alone taking home a cool $314,000 of that.
The defending champions are Royal Never Give Up. RNG beat off stiff competition from runners-up FunPlus Phoenix to claim the $300,000 first prize in 2021.
The third-place team was EDward Gaming, one of the teams we are covering in this article.

It’s going to be a marathon, not a sprint. So, the teams with the most stamina and mental fortitude are likely to taste success.
OMG – The Early Front Runners
Already in week 2, things are starting to heat up. Sides have started to take games of each other, and there is now only one side left that has a 100% game-winning record.
Yes, so far OMG (Oh My God) has won all three of its matches to zero.
In week 1 they defeated SinoDragon, Rogue Warriors, and Invictus.
All three matches finished 2-0 respectively. Giving OMG a 3-0 match record, and a 100% 6-0 aggregate game record – the only zero in games left out of the 17 teams.
Next up this week for OMG is Bilibili Gaming on Thursday, and that is followed by the big one against Edward Gaming on Saturday.
And it’s this match-up we’re going to look at.

Who will stop Creme and Shanji?
The LPL Summer 2021 Outstanding Rookie award winner Creme, already has 2 MVPs in the group stages to his name.
So far this competition, Creme is playing catch-up to his OMG teammate Shanji, who has three MVPs already.
The full roster for OMG is:-
- shanji
- AKi
- creme
- Able
- cold
Solid start to LPL Spring 2022 for EDward Gaming
Opponents EDward Gaming has also had a solid start to this year’s competition.
So far this year, EDWard Gaming has won all three of its matches, with an aggregate score of 6-1.

They opened up with an impressive 2-0 win over JD Gaming on the first Tuesday. This was followed up with a 2-0 win over SinoDragon on Saturday, and finally a 2-1 win over eStar on Tuesday.
EDward Gaming’s roster is impressive and boasts a wealth of experience.
- Flandre
- Jiejie
- Scout
- Viper
- Meiko
The guys on the EDward Gaming roster have had a solid if not spectacular start to the competition.
But they know it won’t be won in the first couple of weeks, and they have the experience to know when the time is to really come good.
Who Will Win the Big Clash?
In this event last season, OMG finished in a lowly 15th position. So a vast improvement will be needed this season.
Is their fast start this year just a flash in the pan? Or are they the real deal?
A match-up with last year’s third-place finishers, EDward Gaming, will be a good marker to judge them by going into the remainder of the competition.
I’m going for experience and know-how for this match though.
Yes, I think OMG has vastly improved, but I’m not sure they have improved enough to defeat EDward Gaming just yet.
Our Esports betting sites page has plenty more information on this fast-growing gambling sport.
Esports is probably still not classed as a mainstream sport amongst the traditional sports gamblers, but its popularity speaks for itself.
The best sports betting sites do have daily markets on Esports. But despite its continued growth, there still seems to be a shortage of long-term markets.
I expect this to change as time goes on though. The sportsbooks will need to employ more Esports betting experts in the long run, if they want to keep up with their competitors.
That will mean even more markets for us to choose from. So keep it here at MyTopSportsbooks for all the latest Esports betting news and free picks.
