One of the world’s best League of Legends teams, T1, is the favorite to win the LCK Spring Split. T1 fell short of winning the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, losing to DRX in the Finals. T1 is the top pick to win the 2023 LCK Spring Split because the team has maintained the same roster that finished as the runner-up at the 2022 World Championship. The big news for T1 ahead of the 2023 Spring Season was that the team inked its star player, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok to a three-year deal.
In the 2022 Spring Season, T1 went 18-0 and had 36 wins and seven losses out of 43 games and the team garnered six of the eight post-tournament awards, including Keria winning the Regular Season MVP.
DWG KIA wrapped up the 2022 LCK Spring split in third place. The team went 11-7 in the series and had a record of 27 wins and 15 losses in 42 games, which put them at a 64 percent winning percentage. DWG KIA later won the 2022 LCK Regional Finals and finished in 5th-8h place at the 2022 World Championship.
DWG KIA’s best performance of last year and one that should give the team confidence heading into the 2023 Spring Split was a win over DRX at the LCK Regional Finals.
Expectations are high for DWG KIA after the team added Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Kim “Canna” Chang-dong to its roster.
Hanwha Life Esports
Hanawha Life Esports did not have a good 2022. The team finished in 10th place during the Spring Split with a series record of 3-15, while going 12-31 in games. Hanawha Life Esports followed that with a 2-16 run and another last-place finish in the Summer Split.
Unsurprisingly, Hanawha Life Esports retooled its roster for 2023. Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon from world-champion DRX joined the club, as did another world champ, Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo. Hanawha Life Esports also added former world champion Park “Viper” Do-hyeon to the team.
With its new and improved roster, Hanawha Life Esports might not win the 2023 Spring Split, but the team should play well and the Spring Season will give the new roster much needed experience heading into the later 2023 Splits.
With the way they ran through the 2022 Spring Split and their eyes on the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, the best bet to win the 2023 LCK Spring Season is the same team that won last year, T1.
Pick: T1 to win the 2023 LCK Spring Split.
