NFL Betting – Week 16 Sneak Peek – Colts at Cowboys

Two teams with good chances to make the playoffs will clash in week 16 as the Colts travel to AT&T Stadium to face the Cowboys.

This is the first meeting since the Cowboys’ overtime win in Indianapolis in 2010. Dallas has won two straight in the series and has not lost to the Colts since 2002.

Both Indy and Dallas have face all of the other’s division rivals this season. Indianapolis is 2-1 against the NFC East. The Colts led late in the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on in a 30-27 setback at home against the Eagles in week 2. The Colts then easily handled the Giants in New York (40-24) in week 9 and brushed aside the visiting Redskins (49-27) in week 13.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 3-0 against the AFC South. Dallas won at Tennessee (26-10) in week 2, got by the Texans (20-17) at home in week 5, and had pseudo-home field advantage when they knocked off Jacksonville in London (31-17) in week 10.

The Colts are 4-2 straight up and against the spread on the road. They fell at Denver (31-24) in week 1, and at Pittsburgh (51-34) in week 8. Their road wins have come against Jacksonville (44-17), Houston (33-28), the New York Giants (40-24), and Cleveland (25-24).

Indianapolis is the top passing team in the NFL. While quarterback Andrew Luck has similar touchdown and interception numbers at home and on the road, he completes less than 60-percent of his passes away from home while connecting on nearly 65% in Indy.

Though the Cowboys have been dominant on the road (6-0), they have only been average at home. Dallas is 3-4 at home and 2-5 against the spread. The Boys have lost three straight at AT&T Stadium with increasingly ugly scores. In week 8, Dallas fell to Washington (20-17) in overtime, then the Cardinals won going away in week 9 (28-17), and on Thanksgiving Philadelphia dominated the Cowboys wire-to-wire (33-10). After losing to San Francisco (28-17) in their opener, Dallas won home games against New Orleans, Houston, and the Giants.

Before this week 16 game, Dallas has another pivotal game with the Eagles. Indy can sew up its second straight division title in week 15 with a win over Houston.

After their week 16 tilt with the Colts, the Cowboys travel to Washington for their regular season finale. Indy meets Tennessee in week 17.
