Last year St. Louis went 7-9 including a 6-4 mark against non divisional foes. One of those opponents was the Cowboys. Dallas beat St. Louis 31-7 in Texas during week three.

Dallas gashed the Rams last season on the ground. The Cowboys ran for 193 yards while holding St. Louis to 35 rushing yards. Dallas led 24-0 early in the third quarter making for an easy afternoon for Tony Romo who completed 17 of 24 throws. It was a sort of unusual day for St. Louis who ranked ninth in the league last season against the run. Meanwhile, the Cowboys were only the 24th best rushing team in the NFL in 2013.

During an 8-8 season where the Cowboys failed to win a pseudo week 17 playoff game against Philadelphia, what Dallas did best was limit mistakes. They turned the ball over only 18 times and were +10 in turnover margin, eighth in the league. The Cowboys were the fifth highest scoring team in the NFL at 27.4 points a game. However, Dallas was just 2-5 in games decided by three points or less.

The Rams battled the fourth toughest schedule in the league last year and went 7-9 against the spread including 5-3 at home. The Cowboys took on the 21st most difficult slate and were 9-7 against the number going 4-4 on the road. It was the first winning year against the number for Dallas since 2009.
