Thursday Night NFL Lines: Chiefs at Eagles Week 3

Andy Reid is coming back home.  After 13 years with the Eagles,  he will enter Lincoln Financial Field as the visiting coach.  Kansas City and Philadelphia meet this Thursday at 8:25 PM ET for the start of week 3.

“I would expect them to give me a nice Philadelphia welcome,” Reid said to the press before the start of the regular season. “So that’s OK.”

“I think Chip Kelly is a good head coach. I think it was a great pick. It gives the players an opportunity to win games. It gives the city an opportunity to win games. It gives Jeffrey and the organization a chance to win games. That’s what’s more important”, Reid added about the one who replace him.

The Chiefs are 2-0 with wins over Jacksonville and Dallas.  The 17-16 win over the Cowboys proved the team is on the right track.

“When you’re trying to build something, you need to win games like this,” said quarterback Alex Smith. “These are the games you look at in November and December. You need these types of wins, not only the caliber of the win but the style of win. It’s not always going to be pretty.

Philadelphia is 1-1 after spanking the Redskins in Washington, and losing to the Chargers despite they were a 7.5 point home favorites.

“It doesn’t matter how we score as long as we score,” Eagles coach Chip Kelly said. “But I still think we left too many opportunities offensively out there.”

The NFL lines have the home team as 3 point favorites with the game total set at 50.5. Kansas City is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Philadelphia.
