- The San Francisco 49ers are 3.5-point home favorites over the Dallas Cowboys
- Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy are coming off dynamite performances on Wild Card weekend
- Sunday’s NFC Divisional Round matchup kicks off from Levi’s Stadium at 6:30pm ET on FOX
Dallas destroyed the Buccaneers 31-14 on Monday night to capture their first postseason road win in almost 30 years. The Cowboys will now travel to San Francisco to avenge their 23-17 loss in last year’s playoffs. With wins in 11 straight games, including a 41-23 beatdown of the Seahawks on Wild Card weekend, the Niners have looked unstoppable of late.

Dak Prescott vs Brock Purdy
Dak Prescott threw for 305 yards with five total touchdowns and no turnovers against Tampa Bay on Monday night. No defense has permitted fewer points than the Niners this season. But, DeMeco Ryans’ unit looked vulnerable through the air versus the Seahawks last Saturday. Jarrett Stidham and the Raiders also put up 365 passing yards and 34 points against them in Week 17.
Brock Purdy passed for 332 yards with four total TDs and no interceptions in his playoff debut versus Seattle. The seventh-round rookie has led the 49ers to six-straight victories, throwing 16 TDs and just four picks. However, Dallas’ defense forced the most turnovers (33) in the NFL this year.

Parsons vs Bosa
Sunday’s NFC Divisional Round contest also pits the NFL’s best edge rushers against each other. Nick Bosa is a heavy favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year after securing a career-high 18.5 sacks this season.
Meanwhile, Micah Parsons had 12 sacks and 13 tackles for loss through 11 games before injuries limited his effectiveness. Now healthy again, the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year pressured Tom Brady nine times and sacked him once in Monday night’s blowout win.
San Francisco vs Dallas
San Francisco is a 3.5 favorite at Levi’s Stadium after opening at -5 earlier in the week. The over-under is set at only 45.5 points. Which isn’t a surprise given the Niners and Cowboys grade out as Football Outsiders’ top two teams in Defensive DVOA. This matchup also produced just 40 points on Wild Card weekend last year. Kyle Shanahan’s club came away with a 23-17 victory after Dallas ran out of time following an ill-advised Prescott scramble.
The 49ers are even better than last year’s iteration after adding Christian McCaffrey to an all-star offensive cast that already included Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk. They’ve scored 33 or more points in five of their past six games. However, Mike McCarthy’s team is no slouch on offense. They averaged the fourth-most points per game (27.5) in the league in 2022.

Best Bet
Kyle Shanahan is 6-1 against the spread in his postseason career while the Cowboys have dropped seven straight playoff games as an underdog.
Dallas will give the 49ers a fight before losing in excruciating fashion, as always.
