- Buffalo (+600) is favored to be the NFL’s highest-scoring club this season
- Houston (+500) is expected to own the league’s worst offense in 2022
- The NFL season starts on Thursday, September 8, with the Super Bowl champion Rams hosting the Bills in Los Angeles
Fantasy football 101 is to draft players on high-scoring attacks. Yet, no one was that excited to own players on last year’s league-best NFL offense, the Dallas Cowboys (31.2 PPG), as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Ezekiel Elliott all underperformed on expectations. Many football analysts also called for the firing of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore after Big D’s disappointing playoff effort versus the 49ers.

Highest Scoring NFL Team
Bills set to explode?
Josh Allen and the Bills (+600) looked in mid-season form in a preseason tune-up against the Broncos on Saturday. With rookie running back James Cook added to the mix and third-year receiver Gabe Davis poised for an explosion, Buffalo could improve on last season’s 28.4 points-per-game (3rd in league).
However, the club has a new offensive coordinator in Ken Dorsey, following Brian Daboll’s departure. And the cold, wind, and snow coming off Lake Erie always pose a problem come November.

Other high-scoring attacks
Tampa Bay (+800) finished runner-up to Dallas with 30.1 points per game in 2022. With Tom Brady back (from a stint on The Masked Singer?), the Buccaneers should continue racking up points with a loaded wide receiver corps that now includes Hall of Famer Julio Jones.
Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert will always make the Chiefs (+900) and Chargers (+900) a strong bet. The Super Bowl champion Rams (+1000) still have Matthew Stafford and offensive genius Sean McVay. And Cincinnati (+1400) could pile up points if Zac Taylor lets Joe Burrow air it out to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins all season.

Best bets to score a lot
Baltimore (+1800) led the NFL in scoring in Lamar Jackson’s 2019 MVP season (33.2 points per game). While the Ravens fell to 17th last year (22.8 PPG), they ran the most plays per game (69.7) in the league. That fast pace of play combined with a potential Lamar rebirth makes Baltimore a value.
Arizona (+2500) was only the 11th highest scoring squad in 2021 (26.4 PPG), but Kyler Murray was lighting up the NFL before suffering an ankle sprain in Week 8. With a full season of health, the addition of Hollywood Brown, and a horrible defense that will ensure Kyler’s always airing it out, the Cardinals are a smart wager.
Lowest Scoring NFL Team
Since scoring points is essential to winning football games, all of the teams on the board above are also frontrunners to have the NFL’s worst record in 2022. The Texans (+500), Falcons (+600), Bears (+650), and Seahawks (+750), to name just a few.
The New York Jets (+1200) look like a strong bet following Zach Wilson’s injury. However, the Browns (+1600) might be the best value on the board with news of Deshaun Watson’s 11-game suspension. Cleveland has a run-heavy offense, a slow pace of play, a strong division of opponents, and Jacoby Brissett at quarterback for the majority of the season.
Best Bet: Cleveland Browns (+1800)
