More Mahomes magic?
Call it revenge for a humbling Super Bowl 55 defeat. Patrick Mahomes toyed with the Buccaneers defense in Week 4, throwing for 249 yards and three touchdowns in a decisive 41-31 road victory. The Chiefs superstar should keep rolling against the Raiders on Monday Night Football.
He has won seven of eight career games versus his AFC West “rivals”, averaging 318 passing yards per game with 22 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Few teams have successfully slowed down Patrick Mahomes, but he's especially had the Raiders' number.

Vegas finally wins one
It has been a rough start to the Josh McDaniels era in Las Vegas. But after opening the year with three straight losses, the team leaned on Josh Jacobs (a career-high 144 rushing yards with two TDs) to defeat Denver on Sunday. Derek Carr connected with his buddy Davante Adams nine times for 101 yards, but he’ll need to throw for a helluva lot more than 188 yards and 0 TDs to keep pace with KC on Monday night.
Chiefs vs Raiders
Kansas City is a 7-point home favorite over Vegas and the game has the highest total (51 points) on the entire Week 5 slate. Mahomes has embarrassed his opponents in Silver & Black throughout the years. But, it’s worth mentioning that Raiders DC Patrick Graham kept the Chiefs QB in check last time they met. The 27-year-old threw for just 275 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in a 20-17 win over the Giants last November.
Key to stopping Mahomes on Monday night will be pressure – something Las Vegas has generated very little of in 2022. Their sack percentage (3.6%) is the second worst in the NFL. Defensive end Maxx Crosby has four of his team’s five sacks this season. Needless to say, the Raiders desperately need free-agent acquisition Chandler Jones to step up.

Best Bet
Red zone scoring will likely be the difference in this one, as not many teams can keep pace with the Chiefs while settling for field goals. Raiders opponents have scored touchdowns on 76.9% of trips to the red zone (the fourth-highest rate in the NFL) while Kansas City has the fourth-best TD-scoring percentage (73.7%) in the league once they’re in the red zone.
On the other side of the ball, Derek Carr has converted RZ opportunities into TDs only 44.4% of the time – the fifth-worst rate in the league. We like the Chiefs and the UNDER on Monday Night Football.
Final Score Prediction: Kansas City 28, Raiders 19
