Division rivals Baltimore and Cincinnati get together for the second time this season in week 8. On opening day, the Bengals won in Charm City 23-16. Cincinnati led 15-0 at halftime despite failing to score in two red zone opportunities. The Ravens committed the only two turnovers of the game and finished one-for-three in the red zone. AJ Green’s 77-yard touchdown catch with just under five minutes to go was the deciding score. It was the second straight and third win in four tries for Cincinnati against Baltimore. The Bengals have won four of the last five against the Ravens at home.

Baltimore is 2-1 on the road this year and 1-1-1 against the spread. The Ravens went 2-6 away from home last year and 2-5-1 against the number. Baltimore has not had a winning record against the spread on the road since 2010. The Ravens won at Cleveland 23-21 in week 3, lost at Indianapolis 20-13 October 5, and crushed the Bucs 48-17 in Florida during week 6. John Harbaugh’s team travels to Pittsburgh next week before a home date against the Titans and a week 11 bye.
Cincinnati failed to cover at home on October 12 in a tie against the Panthers. It was the first time in three tries this season the Bengals did not earn their backers cash at home. In fact, it was the first time since 2012 that Cincinnati failed to cash at home after going 8-0 straight up and against the number at Paul Brown Stadium last year. Besides the 37-37 result against Carolina, the Bengals have beaten Atlanta 24-10 and Tennessee 33-7 at home. This will be the first of three straight home games for Marvin Lewis’ team with dates against the Jaguars and Browns on tap following the Baltimore game. The health of star receiver, AJ Green, remains in doubt, and he is not currently expected to play in week 7.
