Both the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams need a win in week 4, especially after their horrible performances in week 3.Β 49ers and Rams meet this Thursday night at Edwards Jones Dome at 8:25 PM ET.
The 49ers were erased of the field by the Colts in the 27-7 home loss.Β They couldnβt stop Indianapolis running game allowing them to record 179 yards through the ground.
βYou can question just about everything right now,β San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh said. βWe didnβt play well enough to win in enough areas on enough downs. Did not win the down enough. Not even closely. They did, they made the plays offensively, defensively and we did not.β
Some reports say running back Frank Gore yelled at coach Harbaugh after the loss.
βWhen things are not going right you get frustrated,β Gore said. “But, I think the game kind of got different in the second half, and we had to do what we had to do, just throw the ball. And thatβs what it was.β
LB Aldon Smith wonβt be in the game because he will go to rehab after he was arrested for DUI last week.Β Also, LB Patrick Willis is questionable with a groin injury.
The Rams were just as bad as or even worse than the 49ers in the 31-7 defeat at Dallas.Β The ran for 35 yards and never got their offense going.
“In the first half, we just never got anything going, played behind the chains all day,” quarterback Sam Bradford said. “Just a very poor performance on our part today.”
San Francisco is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games when playing St. Louis.Β The NFL odds have the 49ers as 3 points favorites for Thursday night.
