- BetOnline has updated Super Bowl 54 odds for all 32 NFL teams
- The Patriots (+400) are overwhelming favorites after crushing the Steelers in Week 1 and signing Antonio Brown
- The Cowboys (+1600) and Vikings (+1600) have surging odds after impressive opening-game showings
Strangely enough, Week 1 of the NFL season provided a refreshing break from the Antonio Brown sideshow that has dominated headlines for a month and counting.
After the usual mix of devastating injuries and big surprises during opening week, the Super Bowl odds at BetOnline have shifted for the first of many times this year. Unsurprisingly, Brown’s new team, the New England Patriots, are alone at the top of the board.

THE FAVORITES
New England’s 33-3 stomping of Pittsburgh on Sunday night was probably as dispiriting to fans of rival teams as it was to the Steelers, themselves.
This already looks like the best Patriots defense in years and 42-year-old Tom Brady is still guzzling from the fountain of youth. If AB is half as good at escaping legal trouble as he was at maneuvering himself out of Oakland, the NFL’s 100th season could seem like a rerun.

Kansas City (+700) similarly demolished the Jaguars on the strength of a three-touchdown, 198-yard game from oft-injured WR Sammy Watkins. However, the Chiefs will likely be without Tyreek Hill for the next four-to-six weeks after the star wideout suffered a shoulder injury.
New Orleans (+800) survived a 30-28 Monday Night shootout against Deshaun Watson and the Texans, but Drew Brees didn’t complete too many deep passes. This is an offense that could get bottled up.
THE PLEASANT SURPRISES
Available at 25-1 back in June, both Dallas and Minnesota were listed as my best longshot bets.
Kellen Moore’s new offense is the toast of the league after Dak Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 35-17 demolishing of the Giants.

Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook was reborn in Gary Kubiak’s run-first attack, sprinting for 111 yards and two TDs in a 28-12 win over Atlanta.
Lamar Jackson also wasn’t “too bad for a running back,” tossing five touchdowns against a tanking Dolphins team.
THE BITTER DISAPPOINTMENTS
Following a full season of hype, the Browns were crushed 43-13 by the Titans on their home field as Derrick Henry rolled for 159 combined yards and two TDs.
Baker Mayfield threw three picks and was sacked five times behind a shaky offensive line that has long been viewed as the team’s potential kryptonite.

The Steelers were equally disappointing in their blowout loss to the Patriots, showing once again a complete inability to outscheme Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels on either side of the ball.
Cleveland and Pittsburgh are now 25-1 and 28-1, respectively, to win the Super Bowl, but your money could probably be better spent elsewhere.
