Legion vs Seawolves

San Diego Legion-9.5 (-110)-360+2500
Seattle Seawolves+9.5 (-120)+265+2500

San Diego favored over Seattle

San Diego (15-1) is a 9.5-point home favorite on Sunday. Seattle (12-4) advanced to the Western Conference Finals with a 37-26 victory over the Houston Sabercats last week. However, they dropped both contests against their rivals this year, losing 40-19 in Snapdragon Stadium less than two weeks ago.

The Legion have only lost one game all season – a 31-26 defeat at Houston almost four months ago. Their +269 point differential only trails New England’s +282 mark, and outpaces Seattle’s by more than 100 points. However, the Seawolves have history on their side, with a 3-0 all-time postseason record against San Diego.

Best Bet- Western Conference

Seattle defeated the Legion in the 2018 Semifinal, 2019 Championship Final, and 2022 Eliminator. They also played their Western rivals tight in a 23-20 home loss back in April.

While we think San Diego will pick up their first playoff win against the Seawolves in four tries, we like Seattle to cover the 9.5 points on the road.

New England vs Old Glory DC

BovadaSpreadWinDraw
New England Free Jacks-9.5 (-120)-400+2500
Old Glory DC+9.5 (-110)+290+2500

Free Jacks the chalk pick

New England (14-2) is a 9.5-point home favorite on Saturday. After somehow sneaking into the playoffs with an under .500 record (7-8-1), Old Glory DC upset the defending champion New York Ironworkers 37-33 last week.

The Eastern Conference Final is shaping up like a David vs Goliath battle as the Free Jacks have the best point differential (+283) in Major League Rugby while Old Glory DC finished the year at minus 35 points.

Best Bet – Eastern Conference

New England hasn’t lost a game since March 31 and their only two losses this season came on the road. The Free Jacks barely beat Old Glory DC at home in Veterans Memorial Stadium way back in Round 4. But, they handed them a 42-24 beatdown in their own building in May.

Given that they’re the far superior team, the Free Jacks should have no trouble covering the 9.5-point spread on Saturday. This would set up a dream 2023 Championship Final on July 8th between the two best clubs in Major League Rugby.
