The Sky is just one win away from getting back to the WNBA Finals and potentially capturing a second title in a row. Chicago came ready to do damage on Sunday in Game 3, securing a 76-72 victory on the road. Legend Candace Parker came up big for her squad, leading the charge with a stat line of 16 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Three other scorers finished in double-digits as well. While the Sky lost the battle on the boards, they fully capitalized off 17 turnovers from the Sun, translating them into 17 points. Chi-Town didn’t exactly shoot the ball all that well, either. It was honestly just a gritty win where everyone did a bit of dirty work. Now, they can end Connecticut’s season on Tuesday.

The Sun truly has its backs up against the wall and will need to deliver in front of its home fans. Sloppy basketball truly hurt Curt Miller’s team in Game 3. Making 17 turnovers against a group like Chicago who can hurt you in so many ways just can’t happen and if they’re going to force a Game 5, Connecticut has to take much better care of the rock. It’s crucial. DeWanna Bonner was brilliant in this contest, finishing with 18 points and 11 boards while going 2 for 4 from three-point land. She also had three steals. The entire rotation did their part offensively, but the careless mistakes proved to be a difference-maker.

The spread offers zero value here. These two clubs are very similar in terms of talent, but I think Chicago’s experience will shine through. Take them on the moneyline in the WNBA playoffs picks to clinch the series on Tuesday.

Sunday’s Game 3 was an epic battle but it ended up being the Aces’ largest margin of victory in this series so far, winning 110-98. A’ja Wilson showed exactly why she’s one of the best players in the league, balling out for a game-high 34 points and 11 rebounds in 45 minutes of action, shooting a mind-boggling 70% from the field (14 for 20). Star guard Chelsea Gray also came up clutch, erupting for 29 points and 12 assists, including several huge baskets in OT. This game had no short of fireworks, with Most Improved Player of the Year Jackie Young sinking a game-tying lay-up to force an extra period after Sue Bird drained what many thought was a game-sealing triple.

Seattle definitely left it all out on the floor on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough. Overtime is where the Storm failed to deliver though, getting outscored 18-6. Breanna Stewart went off for 20 points, 15 rebounds, and six dimes, while five others finished in double-digits in scoring. Bird, who announced her retirement earlier this season, had 17 points and eight assists. Aside from the late-game struggles, the Storm shot the ball very well, draining 48% of their field goals and shooting 37% from downtown. Seattle has to try and slow down Wilson and Gray or else their season will in fact be over on Tuesday. Playing in front of the home supporters should help them with momentum and after such a heartbreaking loss, you better believe the Storm has a fire in their belly.

As you can see by the odds, there is no clear favorite here. At this point in the playoffs, anything is possible. Vegas is a fantastic team, but I actually like the thought of Seattle bouncing back and taking this series the distance. As previously mentioned Sunday’s defeat was the ultimate gut punch. They are going to respond in a positive manner. Take the Storm in the WNBA Playoffs picks.
