Will The Rock actually return?
The Rock was rumored to return at Survivor Series 2021 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his WWE debut. And then again at last year’s WrestleMania, so there’s always chance this is all idle speculation. After all, he has a jam-packed Hollywood schedule making B-minus action flicks.
However, things do line up nicely for one last match from the 50-year-old. Apparently, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t have any movie-making commitments in early 2023, in the lead up to WrestleMania 39 on April 1st and 2nd. There’s also reports that the WWE will induct The Rock into the Hall of Fame on WrestleMania weekend.

Roman Reigns’ thoughts
Reigns is on a new WWE contract with reduced TV appearances and pay-per-view matches. He performed at Clash at the Castle in early September and reportedly won’t be back to defend his WWE Championship until November’s Crown Jewel.
The Big Dog recently weighed in about a possible match against his cousin on Logan Paul’s podcast, saying, “I don’t book the show, bro. I’m up for anybody. If it works out, then I’m ready. All the big names, all the big stars, whether they’re from our business, the movies, to the internet now, I’ve been in a really cool groove where these things have just come to me. So, I hope they’ll just continue to do that. ”
WrestleMania 39 dream match
Oddsmakers have installed Roman Reigns as a -200 favorite in the rumored main event. And that line makes perfect sense. Having not wrestled since 2013, The Rock (+150) isn’t coming back a decade later to go on a long championship run where he takes on all challengers.
No, this is purely for entertainment purposes. Wrestlemania is about the spectacle of it all. Putting on the biggest possible show with the biggest stars in professional wrestling, past or present. Whether the match actually happens or not is in doubt. But the outcome of the match is not.

Best Bet
If you don’t mind waiting to cash out until early April, there are worse places to put your money than a bet on Roman Reigns at -200. First, you will get refunded if the match doesn’t end up happening.
Secondly, The Rock will almost certainly lose. For him, a Wrestlemania 39 appearance is simply an opportunity to put over his cousin in the biggest possible way. All while celebrating his magnificent pro wrestling career with a WWE Hall of Fame induction and one final match under the lights in Hollywood, where he became a mega-star.
