Verstappen or Norris?

Max Verstappen (+175) and Lando Norris (+185) are co-favorites at this week’s Dutch Grand Prix. Verstappen has won three straight races at his home track in Zandvoort, but he’s failed the top the podium in the last four events. With ten races remaining following the summer break, he has a 78-point edge in the drivers’ standings over Norris. Red Bull’s lead over McLaren in the constructors’ standings is also down to only 43 points.

Norris’ win in Miami was his sole victory of the season, but he already has five runner up finishes in 2024.

Piastri perfection

Oscar Piastri (+550) has finished ahead of his McLaren teammate in the past two races. After capturing his first Grand Prix victory in Hungary, the 23-year-old Australian took second place at the Belgian Grand Prix.

With the summer break allowing him to rest a broken rib he suffered during the first half of the year, Piastri should be in peak form at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Mercedes momentum

George Russell (+1000) took the checkered flag at the Belgian Grand Prix, only for his victory to be wiped out hours later after his car was found to be underweight. The disqualification gave his teammate Lewis Hamilton (+1000) his 105th career GP victory.

It would have been Mercedes’ first 1-2 finish since the 2022 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. After a rough start to the season, the team has captured three of the past four races with Russell triumphing in Austria and Hamilton topping the podium in Britain and Belgium.

Best Bet

Given that seven different drivers have wins this season, it makes little sense to take a favorite. With Mercedes’ momentum surging, we’ll take George Russell (+1000) to win at Zandvoort.
