It’s all over. Just like that, the 2026 Major League Baseball season has come to an end, with a memorable postseason taking center stage. At first, plenty of people thought that the MLB betting analysis would be spot on with the Los Angeles Dodgers to win it all, but they were eliminated before the Fall Classic even got here. And with that, the MLB betting odds kept giving us all quite a ton of belief that the Milwaukee Brewers were going to win it all.
In what turned out to be a major shocker, the Brewers indeed were able to win the World Series, doing so for the first time in organization history. The Brewers took on the Tampa Bay Rays with the trophy on the line, but the NL Central side won the series 4-1. It was a complete and total domination. With that, the campaign indeed is over, with people now shifting their MLB betting focus to the end-of-season awards, while World Series odds are already out for next year. Who’s going to end up winning it all?
The Dodgers are quickly the 2027 World Series Favorites
Before we get into the memorable season for the Brewers, it’s important to look to the future. And with that, the Dodgers are quickly the 2027 World Series favorites, which shouldn’t come as a surprise at all. We’re not calling LA out in any way, but they totally blew it in not posting a three-peat this season. Throughout the entire year, the Los Angeles Dodgers had the best World Series betting odds, but they choked a bit in not advancing to the final round of play.
Can we expect the Dodgers to be aggressive during free agency? That’s something that is always going to be the case, as the Dodgers have made plenty of splash moves in recent years. Because of that, they’ve won two of the last three times. Once next October gets here, they’ll be looking for their third championship in the past four seasons, which is pretty wild to even think about. That’s how great they’ve been, making other teams look rough.
With the MLB offseason now here, the Dodgers currently hold the No. 1 betting odds at +360 to win the title next fall. The Brewers, who just won things on Wednesday night, are listed at +500. Behind them are the New York Yankees at +740. The Yankees failed miserably this year, getting knocked out in the ALDS. That’s never going to be good enough, but Aaron Boone will be back for the final year of his contract, and Aaron Judge’s MLB prop bets will be followed closely. Can the Yankees finally get over the hump?
The Brewers have given countless teams hope that smaller markets can win it all
Now with the Brewers, you’ve just got to tip your cap to what they were able to get done this season. At no point at the start of the campaign did people think they’d have what it takes to win the trophy. None of the MLB betting trends favored them. However, this team was built on strong offense and fantastic pitching. Now, they don’t have the payroll of some of the bigger-market clubs, but the Brewers proved that sometimes that doesn’t matter. Manager Pat Murphy also deserves a ton of credit for what he was able to get done.
“You say they’ve been waiting so long, that’s one thing — but it’s more about their undying commitment to this team,” Murphy said right after Milwaukee completed the World Series triumph. “It started growing and growing throughout the year, grew last year, and then you see what it means to them. It’s not just the city of Milwaukee. It’s the whole state of Wisconsin. I hope they’re proud. I hope they’re proud of these guys. I hope they realize how special this group is.”
Those emotional words from Murphy were great, while William Contreras took home MVP honors. Contreras is an exciting talent in the bigs, and it’s been fun to see how much he has meant to the city too. The Brewers hold +500 betting odds per the top MLB betting sites to win the title next year, and while they aren’t the favorites to repeat as the champs, they’ve proven in a big way that they’re a club that can never be counted out. Good for them – this is a moment the fanbase can cherish for quite some time.

Can the Seattle Mariners resemble what Milwaukee just got done?
For plenty of people in the Pacific Northwest, they’ve got to be wondering if maybe, just maybe the Seattle Mariners can use what Milwaukee just got done for some needed motivation. Seattle remains only a handful of teams who are yet to win the World Series. Last season, the Mariners were pretty darn close to making history, as they pushed the Toronto Blue Jays to seven games in the American League Championship Series.
Don’t forget too that the Mariners were up 3-2 at one point in the ALCS in 2025, but Toronto won Game 6 and Game 7 to snatch history away from the AL West side. The Mariners were even up in that Game 7 loss, but a 3-run George Springer home run crushed dreams everywhere in Washington State. This past year was a complete and total disaster, with the Mariners failing to reach the postseason – no one saw that coming.
Dan Wilson will not return as manager in 2027, and now the Mariners are on the hunt for a replacement to lead this team. There are going to be high expectations for this group, as Jerry Dipoto has to knock things out of the park with his next hire. The Mariners hold +2200 odds to win the World Series, which isn’t great, but before even thinking about that, the Mariners have to focus on building a lineup to get Seattle back to a spot with strong MLB playoffs betting odds. Then fans can start dreaming of reaching the World Series for the first time.
Aaron Boone will be entering a make-or-break year with the Yankees in 2027
Elsewhere in the American League, it goes without saying, but Aaron Boone is going to be coaching for his job in the Bronx next season. Despite fan pleas to have him fired, it was announced that Boone is going to return to the Yankees for the last year of his deal. The expectations could not be more clear-cut for the veteran manager: anything short of a trip to the World Series is not going to cut it, especially since the Yankees had such a rough exit to the postseason this year.
“His tenure has been an unsatisfying mix of consistent regular-season success and constant postseason failure,” ESPN’s Jorge Castillo wrote in a new piece. “Boone’s .583 winning percentage is tied for 17th in major league history. The Yankees have reached the playoffs in eight of his nine seasons. They have not finished worse than two games over .500, extending the Yankees’ MLB-record streak of 34 consecutive winning seasons.”
On paper, Boone’s time with the Yankees has been pretty dang solid, but solid is never going to cut it for the historic franchise. The Yankees always need to enter a new season with championship expectations. The success has not matched the hype, unfortunately, which has Boone battling for his future. The Yankees hold strong World Series odds for next year, and for Boone to stay in the Bronx beyond just next campaign, he’s got to make sure the Yankees win the AL Pennant, period.
Hal Steinbrenner says Aaron Boone “managed a good season” and “the bottom line is the players didn’t live up to their end of the bargain in the playoffs” https://t.co/vPJhrpEjFI
