Suarez is going to have some stiff competition at Watkins Glen. Three current NASCAR Cup Series drivers have two victories on the 2.45 mile-long road course. Those drivers are Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, and the winner of the last two Go Bowling at the Glen races, Kyle Larson. Bush and Larson are inside the top 11 of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff points race, while Elliott, who won in 2018 and 2019 and finished as the runner-up in last week’s Verizon 200 at the Brickyard is in 19th place with 480 points, which puts him 62 points behind Stenhouse.

While Elliott has not placed first at the Go Bowling at the Glen race since 2019, he has finished second and fourth in the past two years. Last year, Elliott led the race for 30 laps.

Kyle Larson

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion has won the Go Bowling at the Glen race in the past two years. Prior to his victories, Larson placed sixth and eighth. Like Elliott, Larson is a betting favorite for a top-five finish at Watkins Glen in 2023.
Larson has two wins in 2023, and he is the leading driver on the year with 10 top-five finishes. Larson has not won a road race since his victory at Watkins Glen in 2022, but he finished in eighth place at both Indy and Sonoma this year.
Alex Bowman
