Dallas, Philadelphia and San Francisco look like the class of a top heavy conference. But there are bound to be a handful of NFC surprises in the fast-approaching 2023 NFL season.
Starting with the NFC East, we’ll examine the odds and make our picks in all four divisions. Before we dive in, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.
NFC East Futures

Philadelphia Eagles | -125 | -120 | -120 |
Dallas Cowboys | +190 | +190 | +190 |
New York Giants | +675 | +800 | +800 |
Washington Commanders | +1200 | +1100 | +1100 |
Philly or Dallas?
Philadelphia (-125) has new offensive and defensive coordinators following the departures of Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon. Otherwise, it’s business as usual. Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, a top-tier offensive line and a defense loaded with former Georgia Bulldogs will try to return to the Super Bowl. New York (+800) and Washington (+1200) won’t provide any resistance in the NFC East, but one club could.
Dallas (+190) brought in Brandin Cooks to supplement their receiving corps and added Stephon Gilmore at corner. While most think their offense will take a step back with Kellen Moore out the door, more Mike McCarthy might be a good thing. We’ll take Micah Parsons and the Cowboys to win the division.

NFC West Futures

San Francisco 49ers | -160 | -150 | -160 |
Seattle Seahawks | +200 | +200 | +200 |
Los Angeles Rams | +750 | +750 | +750 |
Arizona Cardinals | +2200 | +2500 | +2200 |
Seattle or San Francisco?
San Francisco (-150) is absolutely loaded on offense with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. If Brock Purdy returns to form following a UCL tear, the sky’s the limit for the 49ers. But, Seattle (+200) can’t be counted out. No. 5 overall pick Devon Witherspoon should help solidify their secondary while No. 20 overall selection Jaxon Smith-Njigba will form a fearsome receiving corps with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.
The Los Angeles Rams (+750) and Arizona Cardinals (+2500) are both contenders for worst record in the NFL. We’ll take the Niners to claim their second-straight NFC West title.
NFC North Futures

Detroit Lions | +125 | +130 | +125 |
Minnesota Vikings | +275 | +250 | +275 |
Chicago Bears | +400 | +350 | +400 |
Green Bay Packers | +425 | +400 | +425 |
Vikings rule the north
While everyone seems to be handing Detroit (+130) their first NFC North championship since 1993, there’s not a whole lot to like outside of Ben Johnson’s play-calling and a stalwart offensive line. The defense is still stinky, and Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown form a fairly mediocre offensive corps. What about Chicago (+400)? Well, the Bears won three games last year and Justin Fields takes way too many sacks. Similarly, it’s hard to trust Jordan Love and a Packers (+425) organization that still employs DC Joe Barry.
That leaves the Vikings (+275). Sure, their 13-4 record in 2022 was a mirage, but Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson know how to put points on the board. And Brian Flores provides a massive upgrade at defensive coordinator.

NFC South Futures

New Orleans Saints | +125 | +115 | +125 |
Atlanta Falcons | +240 | +250 | +240 |
Carolina Panthers | +310 | +375 | +310 |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | +750 | +700 | +750 |
Fear the Falcons
New Orleans (+125) is a trendy pick despite coach Dennis Allen having a 18-47 career record. Derek Carr is also a goddamn disaster in the red zone (see above). Carolina (+375) has one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the league and Frank Reich has been consistently overrated as a play-caller for years. Pray for short king Bryce Young.
Tampa Bay (+750) should trade Mike Evans and Chris Godwin immediately and tank for Caleb Williams, because Baker Mayfield gives them no shot. Atlanta (+250) is an easy pick, even with Desmond Ridder under center. Arthur Jones knows how to build a run game around rookie Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, and Kyle Pitts and Drake London should only get better. Fly Falcons, fly.
