49ers now favored to win title
San Francisco (+600) sacked Kenny Pickett five times and intercepted him twice as reigning Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa worked his way back into the lineup after signing a massive new contract. Sophomore QB Brock Purdy connected with Brandon Aiyuk seven times for 119 yards and two scores, and Christian McCaffrey racked up 152 yards and a TD on the ground.
Even with Deebo Samuel and George Kittle having quiet days, the 49ers looked unstoppable in the 30-7 victory. Meanwhile, Kansas City (+700) stumbled in their season-opening loss to the Lions and Philadelphia (+650) narrowly survived their trip to Foxborough, defeating the Patriots 25-20.

Cowboys D dominates
Oddsmakers moved Dallas (+1100) into the top-five after Sunday night’s 40-0 victory over the Giants – the largest shutout victory in Cowboys franchise history. Dan Quinn’s defense forced three turnovers and sacked Daniel Jones seven times while single-handedly winning fantasy football managers their weekly matchups.
“I think we made the statement which I’ve been trying to make: We’re the best defense in the National Football League,” said star linebacker Micah Parsons… and it’s hard to disagree.
Bengals suffer ugly loss
Cincinnati (+1400), a popular Super Bowl pick heading into the year, was thrashed 24-3 by its AFC North rivals in Cleveland. If you were making the case for the Bengals, it’s that Joe Burrow was rusty after missing most of the preseason with a calf injury.
The 26-year-old is just 1-5 in his career versus the Browns and his team started 0-2 in 2022 before making it all the way to the AFC Championship.

Teams to fade
Baltimore (+1600) came away with a 25-9 win over Houston. But, Lamar Jackson looked nowhere near MVP form in Todd Monken’s offense and the Ravens lost J.K. Dobbins for the season with a torn Achilles.
Los Angeles (+2500) lost a 36-34 shootout to Miami. While the Bolts’ offense looked dynamic, Brandon Staley proved once again why he shouldn’t have a job, allowing the most passing yards (466) in Chargers franchise history.
Seattle (+4500) suffered a 30-13 beatdown to a Rams team missing Cooper Kupp. With injuries on the offensive line and Geno Smith reverting to his early-career form, the Seahawks are nowhere near the NFC contenders most thought.

Best Bet
Miami stands out as the best bet on the board at +1800. While we all know one hit to Tua Tagovailoa’s head can crash this investment at any time, the Dolphins are the only team on the board with the upside to defeat the handful of Super Bowl favorites.
With Tyreek Hill going for 215 yards and two scores against the Chargers, Tua passed for 466 yards and three TDs in his debut. Mike McDaniel is an offensive whiz and Vic Fangio’s defense will only improve as the season wears on.
