You already know that the talk of the town for Las Vegas sports betting updates this fall and winter will be on the National Football League. People can’t wait for the start of the regular season to get here, with the Chiefs and Lions all set to start things off a week from today. In Sin City, sportsbooks have been getting ready for the regular season for a while. It goes without saying, but Las Vegas NFL betting is exploding with the Super Bowl there this season.
According to a report, in-person sportsbooks were jam-packed over the weekend with people getting in Week 0 NCAA football bets, but they were also getting futures wagers in for the NFL campaign. This makes a ton of sense, as in February, Las Vegas is going to be filled with people for the 2024 Super Bowl. Allegiant Stadium is home of the big game this year and people can’t wait for Super Bowl week to get here.
As things stand, the Chiefs hold the No. 1 NFL betting odds to win it all this year and that’s not a surprise at all. Patrick Mahomes was the NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP last season. Now, he’s focused on doing everything he can to try and help this team go back-to-back. While Chris Jones continues to be a holdout away from the team, the key pieces are still in place for the Chiefs to make a lot of noise.
However, there are plenty of other squads in the hunt to try and take home the Lombardi Trophy too. In the AFC, the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to push Kansas City quite a bit this year. The good news for them is that standout quarterback Joe Burrow is back from his calf injury. After being carted off the field during Day 2 of training camp, Burrow is expected to be out there vs. the Cleveland Browns next weekend. That’s huge for this team.

The Raiders aren’t getting a ton of betting love in Las Vegas
Taking a look at the local team, the Raiders aren’t getting a ton of betting love in Las Vegas. One of the biggest surprises from this offseason was seeing quarterback Derek Carr sign with the New Orleans Saints. He was released by Las Vegas, but fans were hoping that a young, exciting new QB would make his way to town. Instead, the front office decided to go after veteran Jimmy Garoppolo and people aren’t too excited about that.
The Raiders aren’t expected to give the Chiefs a run for their money in the AFC West, but you can’t forget that this team still has Davante Adams featured in the offense. Adams is without question one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and he’ll be looked at to keep things rocking now that Jimmy G will be throwing him the pigskin in ’23. What kind of season Will Adams be able to put together? People can’t wait to find out.
As a whole, the Raiders have low NFL betting odds to do much of anything this campaign, but there are also plenty of veterans who will look to step up. Regardless of how they perform, people are always going to have a ton of interest in betting on the pro NFL team in the city. The in-person sportsbooks are always packed during the football season, as Vegas is a popular tourist destination in the fall and winter.
This will once again be the case leading up to the Super Bowl, as the city is bracing for huge numbers in the coming months. This is going to be great for local businesses, as hotels are already filling up faster than usual. The Raiders will bring in plenty of people too, which will lead to more betting action without a doubt. Live bets will be fun for Raiders fans, especially if Adams is able to post touchdowns like this:

Vegas is expecting record-breaking wagers this NFL campaign
Keep in mind too that Vegas is expecting record-breaking wagers this NFL campaign. Ever since it was announced that Sin City would be hosting this season’s Super Bowl, experts have predicted that things are going to be absolutely booming this winter, especially once the playoffs arrive. As we previously stated, Las Vegas is always a big-time destination for people to travel to in the fall. However, the Super Bowl is easily one of the biggest sporting events of the year. It’s massive for sports betting.
With Las Vegas known as the betting capital of the world, it only makes sense that countless people are going to make their way to the city for the Super Bowl. Super Bowl week events are already being planned, with people purchasing their tickets for it too. Las Vegas could see billions of dollars being waged on the NFL leading up to the Super Bowl. Things could not be better for officials in Nevada right now. We’re about to witness one of the most electric sports betting periods ever for them.
