  • The Tiger-Cats and Argonauts kick off from Tim Hortons Field at 7:30pm ET on Friday, July 21

The Argonauts are off to a 4-0 start for the first time in 40 years after scoring a 35-27 road victory over Montreal last Friday. Toronto will now head to Hamilton to face a Tiger-Cats team that has rebounded to win two-in-a-row after opening the season with three-straight losses.

Argos favored in Week 7

Toronto is a 7.5-point road favorite against Hamilton in Week 7. After keeping the ball on the ground in his team’s first three wins, Chad Kelly aired it out versus Montreal. The 29-year-old passed for 351 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception with a rushing score.

Averaging a league-high 36.5 points per game, the reigning Grey Cup champions will face a Tiger-Cats squad starting third-string QB Taylor Powell. This one should be a blood bath. Take the Argos to cover.

Bombers to smash Elks

Edmonton is a 15.5-point road underdog to the Bombers on Thursday. The Elks are a winless 0-6 this season while Winnipeg is coming off a stunning 31-28 overtime-loss to Ottawa in a game they led by 16 points with less than three minutes left.

With star receiver Kenny Lawler back from suspension, this is a great spot for Zach Collaros. The two-time reigning MVP leads the CFL with 1,600 passing yards and has a 11:3 touchdowns-to-interceptions ratio. Look for the Green & Gold to lose by 16-plus points for the third time this season.

Lions roar versus Roughriders

British Columbia is 9.5-point home chalk to a Roughriders squad that just lost their starting quarterback for the season. Trevor Harris will be replaced by Mason Fine, who looked just fine in relief last Saturday, completing six-of-eight passes for 122 passing yards and two TDs with 24 yards on the ground.

Coming off a bye, the 4-1 Lions have limited four of five opponents to fewer than 20 points in 2023. On pace for 5,544 passing yards and 32 TDs this year, Vernon Adams Jr. should have no trouble lighting up a Saskatchewan defense that gave up 33 points to the Stampeders in Week 6.

Lions roar versus Roughriders

Following their miraculous comeback versus Winnipeg, the 2-3 RedBlacks are suddenly in a three-way tie for second in the East. Fourth-string QB Dustin Crum ran wild in the game’s final minutes and overtime, finishing with nine rushes for 104 yards and two touchdowns. That could be bad news for a Stampeders team that permitted three Riders QBs to gash them for 69 rushing yards last week.

Calgary’s 33-31 win over Saskatchewan put them at 2-3 this season. However, shaky Jake Maier is bound to have trouble with a strong Ottawa’s defense that allows the second fewest points per game in the CFL. The RedBlacks won’t just cover the 5.5 points on the road, they’ll win outright (+190).
