The PGA Tour season just ended, but that doesn’t mean the golf betting opportunities are done with. Nope, golf is an international sport — and events are common, including the Made In HammerLand, which goes down September 1-4. We have complete betting predictions to 2022 Made In HimmerLand for you right here, so keep on reading.
But before we go any further, it would literally pay to know the current odds to win. The most popular betting sites for golf have posted lines for the entire field, but at the moment, the players underneath are most favored to win it all:
Player | ![]() |
|
Matt Wallace | +2200 | +2200 |
Thriston Lawrence | +2500 | +2500 |
Connor Syme | +2500 | +2500 |
Robert MacIntyre | +2800 | +2800 |
Rasmus Hojgaard | +2800 | +2800 |
Adri Arnaus | +2800 | +2800 |
Pablo Larrazabal | +3300 | +3300 |
Justin Harding | +3300 | +3300 |
Thorbjorn Olesen | +3300 | +3300 |
The playing field is officially set at 156 players — none of which are in the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking. That’s partially why the aforementioned betting odds are so steep. We mean, a typical PGA event might have the favorite at +800 or +900 to win outright. Here? That number is almost three times higher. Anyway, the group of players will be competing for a €2 million prize pool.
Preview Of 2022 Made In HimmerLand
If you’re reading this, you’re probably accustomed to betting on the PGA, and its a roster of superstar players. Welp, very few of those players will be partaking at this event, which is run by the European Tour (or DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons). But even if you’re not familiar with the playing field, we’ll tell you everything you need to know in this preview of 2022 Made In HimmerLand.
This tournament is taking place at HimmerLand Golf Resort in Jutland, Denmark. This marks the seventh time since 2014 that the European Tour has trekked north to this Danish venue. In that span, only one player — Bernd Wiesberger — has repeated as champion, doing so in 2019 and 2021. However, Wiesberger has “defected” to LIV Golf and will not be defending his title in Denmark, which means we are going to have a new champion crowned
HimmerLand is characterized by gusts of wind. Most of the course is exposed (trees are rare), which means wind becomes a factor regularly. Moreover, the course has smooth rising fairways and greens, with water coming into play on five holes. The whole course stretches a so-so distance of 6,700 yards in length.
Betting Picks To Win 2022 Made In HimmerLand
You’d be absolutely crazy to only make one betting pick on the Made In HimmerLand winner. You saw the odds, right? They’re long across the board because this tourney is expected to be wildly unpredictable without top-ranked players participating. Making three bets minimum is an advisable betting strategy and one we’re certainly following. Here are the three players atop our to-bet list:
Bet On Home Player
A number of Denmark natives will be present at the “home” tournament, including Thorbjorn Olesen, Thomas Bjorn, Soren Kjeldsen and Nicolai, and Rasmus Hojgaard. Call it a “home course” advantage, but we sense at least one is worth throwing money on. Among the group, we’re most confident in Oleson.
Oleson has had a top-notch 2022 season, highlighted by a sensational win at the British Masters back in May. The performance wasn’t fluky either because he’s been in contention at several other tourneys such as the Irish Open (8th) and the Cazoo Classic (11th.) Oleson has six careers European Tour wins to his name, and a seventh here is very realistic. Throw some money at the home-crowd favorite here!
Matt Wallace
If there’s a name that American PGA bettors pick up on here, it’s probably Wallace — the odds-on favorite to win in Denmark. He’s jumped back and forth between the regular PGA and European Tour, probably to his detriment actually. But the Englishmen is more talented than his No. 138 world ranking lets on.
This season, Wallace has had some strong outings. Most notably, he tied for fifth at the Dutch Open, finished 18th at the European Open, and was runner-up last weekend in Switzerland. Wallace is trending up, which warrants a bet here.
Pablo Larrazabal
In a stunning move, Larrazabal skipped out on LIV Golf’s upcoming weekend event in Boston in favor of Denmark. Ask yourself, why would the Spaniard turn down the Saudi riches for the European Tour? Welp, he must think he has a chance to win in Denmark. The seven-time winner last triumphed in April at the Handa Championship and has put together a solid 2022 campaign. He’s a perfect pick to round out your trio of bets.
