A great pitching duel will take the stage at Yankee stadium this Sunday when the Masahiro Tanaka takes on Garrett Richards, in the third and final game of the Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees series. The game will be at 8 PM ET.
Tanaka is 3-0 this season after four starts with a 2.15 ERA; no his last outing he helped the Yankees beat the Red Sox 9-3 at Boston, after 7 inning pitched seven hits and two runs.
“I understand it’s a stadium rich in tradition,” Tanaka said through a translator. “Going up on the mound, I did feel that.”
Richards hasn’t lost either this year; he’s 2-0 after four starts and hasn’t had a decision over his last two games.
The Yankees beat the Angels 4-3 on Saturday, with catcher John Ryan Murphy stealing the show to earn the victory.
“We had reports on him,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. “He did a good job on a changeup with guys on second and third early. It was up and he just stayed with it to right field. And he got a first-pitch fastball over the middle of the plate and he hit it out of the park. So, those are two mistakes.”
The Angels are listed +151 in the MLB money line for this game while the New York Yankees are -161. The runs total for this matchup is at 8. NY Yankees are 10-4 SU in their last 14 games when playing at home against LA Angels.
