The best Friday game in the Major League Baseball postseason will be play at Dodger Stadium when the St. Louis Cardinals and Adam Wainwright visit the Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw at 6:37 PM ET.
This is by far the most anticipated game of the first round of the playoffs; we get two tremendous teams with two outstanding pitchers. The Dodgers are favorites in the MLB money line listed -194 to win this game, and the Cardinals are +183.
Clayton Kershaw had a season for the ages with 21 wins and three losses, plus a 1.77 ERA in the regular season; however, he will be trying to forget the 9-0 loss in game six of the 2013 NLDS against the Cardinals.
“That’s the hardest part about it. Your season ends,” Kershaw said Thursday before the Dodgers worked out. “It always hangs with you until your next start. I had to wait a long time for that next one.”
But the Dodgers are excited about Kershaw and what he can do in the postseason; even his rival, Adam Wainwright, a veteran in these situations, thinks Kershawβs season was unbelievable.
“I’m more impressed that, what is he 26 years old, that he’s had the career he’s already had and is the pitcher he is already,” the 33-year-old Wainwright said. “Most times it takes a pitcher a few years to kind of break in and then he starts finding his own, and he’s just been excellent from the very beginning.”
The Dodgers enter this game with five wins in a row.
