- The 2023 Moto3 season has seen eight races completed.
- Two racers, Daniel Holgado and Ivan Ortola, have combined for five wins in 2023
- The 2023 MotoGP season picks back up for the final 12 races in August with the British GP.
The 2023 Moto3 season is on a one-month break following the recent Dutch GP, which Jaume Masia won after finishing in the top six in each of the six previous races he finished. With the next race on the 2023 Moto3 schedule being the August 6 British GP, following the recent cancellation of the 2023 Kazakhstan GP, it’s time to look at the betting odds, picks, and predictions for who will win the 2023 Moto3 world championship.
With eight races down, five Moto3 racers are in the hunt to become the 2023 Moto3 world champion. Last year’s 10th-place finisher, Daniel Holgado is currently in the points lead with 125. Not far behind is Masia, who finished the 2022 Moto3 season in sixth. Also in the mix are Ayumu Sasaki, Ivan Ortola, and Deniz Oncu.

Daniel Holgado
The 18-year-old Daniel Holgado is in his second full year on the Moto3 circuit. Last year, the Spanish rider finished the year with no wins and 103 points, which was good enough for 10th place on the season. With three wins in 2023, Holgado has already exceeded his points total from 2022 with 125. The KTM rider has finished all eight races in 2023, and until his disappointing 25th in the Dutch TT, he had not placed lower than sixth on the year.
If Holgado can bounce back from the Dutch TT, where he had a bad qualifier and a crash in the race, he should be in the running to win the 2023 Moto3 world championship.
Jaume Masia
At 22, Jaume Masia is in his sixth full season with Moto3. He has performed well over the past three years, finishing fourth in 2021 and sixth in 2022 and 2020. With 109 points after eight races in 2023, the Spanish rider looks to improve on those finishes and perhaps win his first Moto3 world championship in 2023.
Masia is the only Honda rider in the top 10 in points in 2023 in Moto3. He heads into the upcoming race in England coming off his first, and only, win of 2023, in the Netherlands. He has had two years with two Moto3 wins, 2020 and 2022, but has never exceeded that number of victories in a season.
Ayumu Sasaki
Ayumu Sasaki is in third place in Moto3 points even though he has not won a race and has only finished six of the eight races of the 2023 Moto3 season. The 22-year-old has accumulated his 94 points on the year by finishing in second place in three races while not finishing lower than sixth in the others he has finished. Riding for Husqvarna, Sasaki has been on the Moto3 circuit since 2017. He has put things together over the past two years, finishing the 2021 season in ninth and moving up to fourth last year.
Sasaki had a strong run in the last 11 races of 2022. He finished nine of those races, winning two, placing second in three, and not finishing lower than fifth in the others.
Best betting picks for the 2023 Moto3 World Championship
While there are five racers who will be in the mix to win the 2023 Moto3 World Championship, I expect the experience and confidence of Ayumu Sasaki will lead the Japanese rider to his first Moto3 world championship title in 2023. While Sasaki is not the betting favorite to win, he presents a good betting value, and his performances in the past two years make him an attractive betting pick.
Best bet to win the 2023 Moto3 World Championship: Ayumu Sasaki.
