• The Knicks are favored to win the series against the Cavs to the tune of -270. They’ve had nine days of rest. Cleveland just survived another 7-game series, triumphing on the road in Detroit to get to the Conference Finals. New York looks unstoppable right now. The market is treating this like a foregone conclusion.

Thunder 4, Lakers 0 (FINAL)

OKC took care of business and swept the Lakers. The Thunder won Game 1 108-90 at home. They kept the pressure on through four straight wins. Doncic never returned. LeBron carried LA alone and it wasn’t enough. The Thunder are off to the Western Conference Finals with extended rest.

Knicks 4, 76ers 0 (FINAL)

New York closed out Philly with another sweep. The Knicks opened with a 137-98 blowout. They never let up. Brunson, Towns, and Bridges dominated all four games. Embiid couldn’t carry the 76ers alone after the brutal seven-game Celtics series. New York is the East’s Cinderella-killer.

Spurs 4, Timberwolves 2 (FINAL)

The Spurs survived a real scare. Minnesota took Game 1 in San Antonio. The series swung after Wemby got ejected in Game 4. After the series was tied, Wemby and Fox responded with two straight dominant performances to close it out in six. Edwards played hurt the whole way through, but it wasn’t enough as San Antonio advanced.

Cavaliers 4, Pistons 3 (FINAL)

Cleveland needed all seven games to put Detroit away. The Cavs won the deciding game in Detroit. Mitchell led the way through the series with multiple 30-point efforts. Cunningham fought hard for Detroit but didn’t get enough support. The Cavs walk into the Conference Finals tired but alive.

Spurs vs. Thunder (Spurs lead 1-0, OKC -120 series)

This is the series the basketball world wanted. Wemby vs. SGA. Two of the league’s top three players. The Spurs took Game 1 in double overtime, 122-115. Wemby went off for 41 and 24. Harper added 24 points, 11 rebounds, 7 steals, and 6 assists in place of Fox.

OKC is still a slight series favorite at -120. The books think Game 1 was an outlier. SGA shooting 7-of-23 is unsustainable. The Thunder still have home court. Game 2 is critical. If San Antonio steals another one, the series swings hard.

Watch Fox’s injury status. If he plays Game 2, the Spurs become true co-favorites. If he sits, Harper gets another start. After his Game 1 performance, that’s no longer a concern for San Antonio. If I had to guess, I would say the Spurs rest Fox again in Game 2, since they won Game 1.

Knicks vs. Cavaliers (Game 1 Tonight, NYK -270 series)

The Knicks host Game 1 tonight. New York has had nine days of rest. They swept the 76ers in Round 2 after defeating the Hawks in six games in Round 1. They’ve had 4 playoff wins by 25 points or more. That’s a level of dominance no other team in the East can compete with.

Cleveland is the tired underdog. They just played seven brutal games against Detroit. Mitchell carried them through the series. Now they have to deal with Brunson, Towns, and Bridges at full strength. The Knicks are -270 series favorites for a reason.

The best bet here? Look at the live unders. The Knicks’ defense is suffocating. Cleveland will be running on fumes. Games could come in lower than expected. The series price feels accurate to me.

NBA Awards recap and coach of the year

SGA won MVP. He averaged 31.4 points on 55% shooting in 66 games. Best player on the best team. Two straight MVPs. He joins Jokic, Giannis, LeBron, and Nash as recent back-to-back winners.
