The biggest betting storylines this month
- The biggest fight of the month is undoubtedly the Super Welterweight clash between Spence Jr and Tszyu. Spence Jr is coming into the fight for the first time in almost three years, having been defeated by Terrence Crawford in his last outing. Tszyu, on the other hand, is on a two-fight win streak, having claimed the vacant WBO international middleweight title last time out.
- Elsewhere, there is huge anticipation surrounding Anthony Joshua’s big fight against Kristian Prenga, in what will be his first bout since he knocked out Jake Paul back in December. The former two-time heavyweight champion will also get back in the ring for the first time since the fatal car crash which saw two of his best friends tragically pass away, which saw suggestions that he could retire from the sport entirely.
- There will also be plenty of eyes on his future opponent Fury, after it was announced that he will fight the night before in Thailand in a warm-up fight against Mariusz Wach.
- Another big heavyweight title fight will see the WBA World Heavyweight Championship on the line when Murat Gassiev takes on Tony Yoka in Moscow on July 11th. The Russian will defend his title for the first time, and enters the bout with a 33-2 record. Yoka, on the other hand, has a 15-3 record and will look to claim a world belt for the first time.
- July will also see the return of Stephen Fulton when he takes on Liam Wilson, while Jermall Charlo will also put his undefeated 36-0 record on the line when he fights Koen Mazoudier on the same card.
Biggest futures, outright and win total moves this month
There has been some significant movement in the betting markets for boxing this month, and this is a closer look at some of the action worth tracking for bettors.
- Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
When the fight was announced a few months ago, Fury opened up as a -170 favorite. Since then, he has drifted out to -180, having defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov. Joshua, meanwhile, opened at +130 but then drifted out to +150 last month. Now, though, as he prepares to take on Prenga this month, bettors have backed him against Fury, bringing his price back to +130.
The bout is still without an official date, but if everything goes to plan, it’s expected to take place in November, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
- Errol Spence Jr to return with a bang
Spence Jr has been out of the ring for almost three years following a stunning defeat to Terrence Crawford that took away his undefeated record, but he will be looking to make a statement upon his return.
The American fighter opened as a -150 favorite for the fight, but has since shortened to -154. Tszyu, on the other hand, has been very active, having fought seven times sine Spence’s last bout. In that time, he has gone 4-3, claiming back-to-back wins over Anthony Velazquez and Denis Nurja since December 2025.
Tszyu opened as a +125 underdog, but in recent weeks has seen his odds drift out to +133, despite the fact he will have hometown advantage with the fight taking place in Australia.
- Murat Gassiev and Tony Yoka set for a banger
After news that Oleksandr Usyk has vacated all of his world title belts ahead of a big ‘Last Dance’ final fight, the heavyweight title scene is one to keep a close eye on in the coming months.
Gassiev will defend his WBA title for the first time, having claimed victory in his last fight, defeating Kubrat Pulev with a sixth-round knockout back in December, making it three wins in a row. Yoka, on the other hand, has won his last four consecutive fights, including three knockouts to earn this title shot.
Bookmakers had Gassiev opening as a -200 favorite, but has recently shortened to a -222 favorite, with many expecting him to continue his good form. Yoka initially opened as a +194 underdog, but has now drifted out slightly to +200 to win the title.
Futures market check
Looking forward to future matchups in the world of boxing, there are some interesting lines beginning to appear on the market.
- Anthony Joshua (-3300) vs Kristian Prenga (+1000)
Joshua opened as a -4000 favorite favorite against the relatively unknown Albanian, but he has since shortened. He dropped as low as -2800 at one point. But he can now be backed at -3300, with bettors finding some value with that lower price. Prenga initially opened at +1000, before drifting as high as +1700 with some bookies. But the Albanian has shortened once again, and is available at +1000 once more just weeks out from the fight.
- Tyson Fury (-5000) vs Mariusz Wach (+6600)
Fury returned to the ring back in April with a comfortable decision win, and now looks to continue his comeback ahead of a big fight against Joshua later this year.
The fight was announced just days ago, but Fury has opened as a massive -5000 favorite as a result of his minnow opponent. Wach has a 39-13 professional record, including five knockout defeats and eight losses in his last 12 fights. Opponents in that time frame include Dillian Whyte, Hughie Fury, Arslanbek Makhmudov, Frazier Clarke, and Moses Itauma.
- Moses Itauma (-910) vs Filip Hrgovic (+600)
With the heavyweight division in disarray following Usyk’s decision to vacate the belts, there is plenty of attention on what will come next.
Moses Itauma has been tipped in recent times to be a future contender, and he will now have the chance to stake his claim when he takes on former international heavyweight champion Hrgovic. The Croatian has a 20-1 professional record, including 15 wins via knockout. His only defeat came against another British heavyweight, Daniel Dubois.
Itauma has opened as a huge -910 favorite, while Hrgovic is a +600 underdog. That makes him a great value bet, considering his pedigree at the top level throughout his career, while this is Itauma’s biggest test to date.
🚨 USYK TO VACATE ALL THE BELTS
✅ Oleksandr Usyk has now confirmed that he will be vacating all of world heavyweight titles.

What could move odds before next month’s update
It’s possible that there could be some official fight announcements coming in the near future.
- Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson continue to find themselves on a path to a fight against one another, and an official announcement could see big movement in the betting market.
- With both Fury and Joshua fighting this month, expect plenty of movement on their fight for later in the year depending on their performances in those bouts.
- Agit Kabayel, who has been promoted to full world champion following Usyk’s decision to vacate, is likely to be in the frame to be Fury or Joshua’s next opponent after their fight, so it’s worth looking at potential markets opening up should there be movement in that direction.
- Dmitry Bivol and a mega fight against fellow light heavyweight champion David Benavidez continues to be rumoured and could take place later this year, in a clash for the undisputed crown. Benavidez only holds one of the five available belts in the division, but at 29 and as an undefeated fighter, he is expected to enter the fight as the favorite once betting odds are released and a fight is announced.
- With Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s much-anticipated rematch being delayed, expect the odds to move as a result of the prolonged timeline. It may be an opportunity to get value too, before a new date is announced.
