The final CS:GO Major of 2023 takes place in Paris, France between May 8-21 as the 24 best CS:GO teams in the world converge on the Accor Arena to battle it out for a total prize pool of $1,250,000. The wining team takes home $500,000, and qualifies for the IEM Cologne 2023 event and the BLAST Premier World Final. Last year’s final CS:GO Major took place in Brazil. The winning team in that event was Outsiders, a team that was disbanded in March of this year.
The 24 teams involved in the 2023 Paris Major are divided into three groups: Challengers Stage, Legends Stage and Champions Stage. The Challengers Stage runs from May 8-11, Legends Stage goes from May 13-16, and the Champions Stage takes place between May 18-21.
The Challengers Stage features 16 teams, and will be played in a best-of-one format before the best-of-three elimination and advancement matchups. The top eight teams from the Challengers Stage head to the Legends Stage, where they join the top-ranked teams from the Regional Major Qualifiers. The Legends Stage follows the same format as the Challenges Stage. The best eight teams make it to the Champions Stage, which is a single-elimination bracket best-of-three format.

G2 Esports
Despite starting in the Challengers Stage, G2 Esports is favored to walk away from the CS:GO Blast.tv Paris Major as the champions. The German team won the BLAST Premier: World Final 2022, and came in first at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 event. However, the squad has losses to Cloud9, ENCE, 9INE, and Vitality in recent matches.
G2 Esports, who are the No. 5 ranked team in CS:GO, starts the Challenger Series with a matchup against TheMongolZ, who are ranked at No. 22.
Heroic
The No. 1 ranked CS:GO team in the world, Heroic hail from Norway and Denmark. The European club finished second to Outsiders at the Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022, won the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022, and finished as the runner-up at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023, losing to G2 Esports by a score of 3-1. Heroic enter the CS:GO Blast.tv Paris Major as a part of the Legends Stage.
In recent matches, Heroic has played well, but they did lose to Vitality and Berlin International during April.

FaZe Clan
The former No. 1 team in the CS:GO rankings, FaZe Clan are right behind Heroic. FaZe Clan do not have a bye in the first round of the Blast.tv Paris Major. They face the No. 24 ranked team, Monte in the opening round of action. A member of the European region, FaZe Clan finished first in the ESL Pro League Season 17 as well as at the Intel Grand Slam Season 4 event.
The team has had some ups and downs in April losing several matchups including recent setbacks to Vitality and FURIA. Despite those losses, FaZe Clan are a team that is always expected to give opponents fits in big events. The Paris Major is no different.
