With the Valorant Champions 2023 event approaching, Valorant teams in the Americas and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) have one last chance to qualify for that event, the Valorant Champions Tour 2023: Last Chance Qualifier for the Americas and EMEA. The VCT LCQ for the Americas takes place between July 15 and July 23 at Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the EMEA last chance qualifier goes down between July 19 and July 23 in Berlin, Germany. We look at the betting odds, picks, and predictions for the VCT 2023: EMEA LCQ Event.
Six teams will play in the VCT 2023: EMEA LCQ: KOI, Natus Vincere, Giants, BBL Esports, Team Heretics, and Karmine Corp. The event winner joins Fnatic, Team Liquid, and FUT Esports in representing the EMEA at Valorant Champions 2023. That event occurs between August 6 and August 26 at the Shrine Auditorium and Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. In addition to the winning team at the EMEA LCQ moving on to the Champions event, the runner-up team will also claim a spot in that tournament. All told, 16 teams will compete at the 2023 Champions event. Last year, LOUD, who competes out of Brazil, won the Champions event, defeating Optic Gaming, from the US, in the Grand Final.

Natus Vincere
Playing out of Ukraine, Natus Vincere had a rough go of things at the recent Tokyo Masters event, where the team finished in 11th-12th place out of a field of 12 teams. NAVI went 0-2 in that event, losing to NRG and EDG in the Group A opening match. That performance was not what the squad wanted after finishing the 2023: EMEA League event in May in fourth place and placing third-fourth at the March LOCK//IN Sao Paulo event.
On a positive note, the team’s roster has been together since November 2022, so this is the same club that had success earlier in 2023.
NAVI opens the 2023 EMEA LCQ event with a semifinal matchup against the winner of Team Heretics and KOI.
Giants Gaming
Hailing from Spain, Giants Gaming has made some progress in the early going of 2023, which is a good sign heading into the EMEA LCQ. The team did not do well at the LOCK//IN Sao Paulo event, finishing in 9th-16th place after losing to top-seeded NRG in the second round of action. However, Giants did do better in 2023 EMEA League play, taking home 5th-6th place in that event, going 5-4 in season play before being shutout 2-0 by FUT Esports and NAVI in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Playing together as a team since November, Giants Gaming has some momentum heading into the EMEA LCQ. They open the event in a semifinal matchup against the winner of BBL Esports and Karmine Corp.
BBL Esports
BBL Esports represents Turkey in the Valorant EMEA league. The team is struggling heading into the EMEA LCQ. BBL finished the 2023 EMEA League play with a record of 3-6 and failed to qualify for the Tokyo Masters. Before that finish, the squad wrapped up the LOCK//IN Sao Paulo tournament in 17th-32nd place, losing to DRX in the event’s opening round.
BBL has not played together all that long as a unit, adding two players to its roster in 2023. The team needs to click on all cylinders to make it to the Grand Final of the 2023 EMEA LCQ event.

My feeling is Natus Vincere and Giants Gaming will finish as the top two teams when the EMEA LCQ wraps up. However, the question of which of those teams is the betting favorite is a tough one to answer. NAVI is a solid team, but they did not play well at the Tokyo Masters event. As for Giants, they are making progress and improving as a team event over event.
