Betting to win the Women’s NCAA National Championship
Yes, not only are the South Carolina Gamecocks the defending champions, they are also the odds on favorites. South Carolina is -200 with the best college basketball betting sites. That puts them well clear of UConn at +750, Indiana at +800, and Stanford at +850.
Regarding the fourth number one seeds, Virginia Tech, they are down at +3300, well outside of the betting favorites. The UConn Huskies are the gatecrashers to the top seeds in the betting. The Huskies have been drawn in the same bracket as Virginia Tech, and this is why the seeded side are so long in the betting to win the competition with the best March Madness betting sites.

The Team to Beat; South Carolina Gamecocks -200
Most sportsbooks have South Carolina at -200, but BetOnline are now -210 on the Gamecocks to successfully defend their title. It could already be the time to move if you want to get the best odds for a wager on Dawn Staley’s team to win the championship.
The Gamecocks won the Southeastern Conference with a perfect 32-0 record. They have big names like guard Zia Cooke and Raven Johnson in a squad that is just riddled with talent. And they are the defending champions, having defeated UConn 64-49 in last year’s final. It’s really hard to find a hole in their roster, or gameplay.

It will take something exceptional to stop them from winning the championship again this year, and this is why they are our betting pick.
Main Rivals; UConn – +750
Everyone may have their own opinions on who are the main rivals to South Carolina, and that includes the Selection Panel who have seeded UConn at number 2, behind Virginia Tech.
Geno Auriemma’s team is coming into March Madness on a five match winning streak. And after being the dominant team in the Big East for a number of years, the Huskies must retain some hope of being able to overcome the Gamecocks. Aaliyah Edwards is obviously key. The Huskies need her to perform if they are to stand any chance of winning the tournament.
Third Favorites; Indiana Hoosiers +800
Mackenzie Holmes is the star turn in the Hoosiers side, and Indiana will need her to continue her impressive return of over 22 ppg throughout March Madness. Over the season the Hoosiers had an overall record of 27-3, including a strong 16-0 at home. They won the Big Ten ahead of Iowa with a 16-2 record. Impressive as that is, it’s hard to see them having the firepower to down South Carolina.
Finally; Stanford +850
The Stanford Cardinals will need Cameron Brink to be at her very best if they are to have any chance of winning the competition. The Cardinals are a number 1 seed, despite losing two of their last three matches. And in the match previous to that run, they needed overtime to see off the challenge of Colorado.
In their current form, it’s hard to see them going the distance this year. But they aren’t seeded 1 for nothing. And their solid enough showing in a competitive Pac-12 shows they are a team not to be taken lightly.
