England gets the Nod over India as the Best Favourite

India opens the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup as the favorite to win it all. They have the talent and pedigree – however, losing out on hosting cannot be understated and partly why we like England over India to win the World Cup.

England has a talented team with plenty of firepower. They are a dangerous opponent to anyone at the tournament due to their ability to bat and bowl with high-efficient. The team has experience – finishing as the runner-up in 2016 – and is motivated to redeem what they view as a disappointing (and may even embarrassing) loss to the West Indians.

England has done a good job constructing their roster to fill any potential holes. The loss of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer is replaced by veteran Tymal Mills. They have Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali to make the most of the conditions in the UAE and bring Liam Livingstone to fill in anywhere where needed.

You can also argue based on world rankings, England’s group is more favorable than the other favorites. England – which is ranked number one in the world – does not have numbers two through four (India, Pakistan, and New Zealand) in their group. That will help ease England’s path into the semi-finals and gives them the chance to play – a potentially wore out runner-up from Group B before playing in the Finals.

Best Underdog to Win the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup – Bangladesh

While we like Sri Lanka coming in at +5000 to win the World Cup on the best cricket betting sites as great value to win the tournament we do not love them like others. Sri Lanka looked great in their warm-up match against Bangladesh – showing off great power in a convincing win. But we still are not convinced.

Bangladesh is the best country in the first round of the tournament. Some mistakes in qualifying cost them an automatic bid. However, they have shown they are still a cricket powerhouse coming off home series wins over Australia and New Zealand.

Bangladesh is bringing their entire original team to the tournament (after previously dropping and re-adding Rubel Hossain). Much of their roster had played together for at least five years – with some members of their team, teammates since 2007. The results for Bangladesh have at international are disappointing. However, they have climbed the rankings the last four years as look as good as ever.

We expect more from them at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup – due to improvements and chemistry together. And because of that, they are our favorite underdog to win the tournament.
