In the betting to win the 2023 IPL, both the Royals and the Titans are among the favorites. The Gujarat Titans are the current +275 favorites to win the title again this year. Gujarat saw their odds shorten on the back of a three-match winning streak. That run did end on Tuesday, when they lost a low scoring match to the Delhi Capitals by five runs.

The best cricket betting sites then have the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings next, with both franchises at +400. Both sides have only won two of their last five, but they still retain the faith of the top online sportsbooks for cricket betting.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are still hanging in there with the betting favorites. At the moment RCB is +550, just ahead of the Lucknow Super Giants. The Super Giants are now out to +700, having been the favorites earlier in the competition.

The Mumbai Indians (+900) and Punjab Kings (+1100) are next. With the three also-rans being the Kolkata Knight Riders (+7500), the Sunrisers Hyderabad (+7500) and the Delhi Capitals (+12500).

Stuttering Rajasthan looking to get their season going again

After a strong start to the season, the Rajasthan Royals have had a bit of a slump in their last four matches. Everything was going well, but since the Royals’ 3 wickets win over the Titans in Match 23, things have not gone according to plan.

The win over the Titans was Rajasthan’s third in a row. And coming straight after a decent win over Chennai, it put the Royals in a strong position in this season’s points table. But since the three match winning streak, Rajasthan have only won one of their next four.

They are still in the mix for a top four position, but with six to seven sides in with a chance of making the playoffs, Kumar Sangakkara’s franchise know how important it is to get some momentum back into their 2023 campaign.

Titans looking to bounce back from Delhi Disappointment

As for the Titans, they are looking good for a place in the top four again this year, even at this early stage of the competition. They have sat top of the table for a few matches now, and even though they’ve yet to open up a commanding lead, they are looking like one of the stronger sides.

But they can’t afford too many more slip ups like they just suffered at the hands of the Delhi Capitals. After restricting the Capitals to just 130/8, the Titans would have expected to win the match. So to then limp to 125/6 from their 20 Overs, must be very disappointing.

Only captain Hardik Pandya with an unbeaten 59 offered any resistance. And with the top of the table looking very congested, the Titans will be hoping for a bounce back win against the Royals on Friday.

Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans Betting Odds

There’s not too much to choose between these two sides in the latest IPL betting odds to win the match. The best cricket betting sites make the Rajasthan Royals the slight favorites at -115. The Gujarat Titans are -105.

In the betting to be the top batter, Jos Buttler is favorite for the Royals at +225. The England white ball skipper hasn’t been in the greatest of form in the last few matches, but a player of his quality won’t be kept quiet forever. As for Gujarat, the favorite is Shubman Gill at +240. Gill is just ahead of Hardik Pandya, who is at +333.

Our Pick

When these two sides met earlier in the IPL, it was the Royals who came out on top. It was a close match, with Rajasthan eventually winning it by three wickets, thanks to an unbeaten 56 from 26 balls by Shimron Hetmyer.

This was a match that Gujarat probably felt they had won when they had the Royals at 55/4 after 10.3 Overs. This in response to the Titans total of 177/7. But as we’ve seen so often in the IPL, a cameo contribution from one player – like Hetmyer – can turn a match, and this is what makes naming cricket betting picks for the IPL so difficult.

But in general, Gujarat looked the better side in this defeat. And if we take out Hetmyer’s contribution, it’s pretty much a given that the Titans would have won. The Titans are also better odds in this match, and this is why we’re making Gujarat our pick to beat the Royals.
