Latest Betting to win the 2023 IPL
The Lucknow Super Giants are joint fourth in the betting to win the 2023 IPL. They are now +650, the same price as the Chennai Super Kings. Surprisingly, despite losing one from one, the Sunrisers have seen their opening price of +1200 drift only as far as +1400.
The limited change in the Sunrisers’ odds is mainly down to the poor starts suffered by the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals. Both the Indians (+600 to +1000) and the Capitals (+600 to +1500) have drifted significantly in the betting. The other sides sliding in the betting are the Punjab Kings, and the Kolkata Knight Riders. But in fairness to them, neither side was expected to challenge.
But given that, neither were the Sunrisers. So it’s difficult to see why – so far – they seem to have been spared in the betting. Although, if they lose this match, that could also change drastically.
At the other end of the winner’s betting market, the Gujarat Titans are still the favorites. The defending champions started the competition at +550, and they have now been cut to +375 after two impressive wins over Chennai (5 wickets) and Delhi (6 wickets).
As things stand, the Titans closest rivals look set to be the Rajasthan Royals (+450). But the Royal Challengers Bangalore (+500) are also looking threatening, and they make up the top three in the betting.

Lucknow vs Sunrisers Betting Odds
In the betting to win the match, the Super Giants are the favorites on the moneyline at -140. Sunrisers Hyderabad are +120. And this is probably a fair reflection of just where the two sides currently are.
In props betting on the match, the Super Giants are also favored to be the highest scorers in the power plays. In the Highest First Six Overs market, Lucknow are -140, with the Sunrisers at +110.
The Sunrisers should be helped in this department with the arrival of skipper Aiden Markram. The South African batter has now joined up with the team after missing the opening match due to his international commitments for his country. And his presence at the top end of the order will strengthen the Sunrisers.

Top Batter Betting
This brings us nicely onto the betting to be the top batter, where Markram is fifth in the betting for the Sunrisers. This is a pretty congested market place with Abhishek Sharma and Mayank Agarwal joint favorites at +300. Rahul Tripathi is next at +350, which is also the same odds as young English batting sensation, Harry Brook.
The explosive Glenn Phillips is at +600. The Kiwi wicket-keeper batter is the sort of player who can brutally take apart any attack. And at +600, Phillips looks like good value to us.
As for the Super Giants, the favorite to be their top batter is KL Rahul at +250. He is followed by the electric Quinton de Kock at +275.
These two are a tried and tested opening partnership. But de Kock is just arriving (like Markram) and hasn’t played a game yet. His stand-in for the opening two matches, Kyle Mayers, has scored 53 (from 22 balls) and 73 (from 38 balls). So what does the captain and coach do here?
Mayers is +300 to be top batter for Lucknow, with Deepak Hooda at +375, and Nicholas Pooran at +500.
Onto our cricket betting picks, and in general, we think the Sunrisers Hyderabad are going to upset the odds a bit in this year’s IPL. Admittedly, they’ve already scored a bit of an own goal after winning the toss and asking the Rajasthan Royals to bat first in their opening match. That decision probably cost them the match, and we’re guessing it’s a mistake they’re going to learn from.
The Sunrisers also have captain Aiden Markram available now. And maybe it was the absence of his leadership that led to the mistake in the opening match.
As for the Super Kings, the arrival of their superstar South African, Quinton de Kock, gives them a headache. Albeit, a positive one.
Either way. The Super Giants either move Kyle Mayes to make way for de Kock, or they shift the batting line up to accommodate de Kock, or they leave the batter out altogether. We feel this puts the Sunrisers at an advantage and that’s why we make them our betting pick.
If you want a top batter pick as well, we’re going for Glenn Phillips to top score for the Sunrisers at +600.
